  • General - I feel abused by this company
My husbands claim for physical therapy was denied due to the therapists being a "participating" provider versus a "preferred" provider" even though the provider was on the insurance company's list of "preferred" providers. I called and the provider had no idea that they had to have preferred status and now we are stuck with an $812.00 bill that was denied due to the provider being considered "out of network" and only a participating not preferred. The insurance company will not do anything other than to tell me that it is not their problem and site the disclaimer on their website. What can I do as now I am stuck with this bill. I was expecting to pay half and not the entire bill? Thank you.... Read More

10/04/2015 Flood in South Carolina-inside my neighborhood-my SUV got flooded-motor was not working 10/10/2015 -the Vehicle was towed -finally- by the insurance company 10/22/2015- Alan Jackson, insurance adjusted-refuses to pay the flood-blames the Chevrolet for the problems of the auto. I recently left a company (US Steel) for another job on Sept, 19,2015. My wife and I were told that my coverage would be till the end of the month if I was in good standing. I put in my two notice, but my wife had a medical issue. She called on either the 17 or 18 of September to verify, she was told the same thing again. She then got a last minute appointment on Sept 23, 2015. On Friday, Sept 25, 2015, we checked to see if any claims had come through, only to find out my previous company cancelled me on the Sept 21, 2015 and my claims would be denied. I have a Union Benefits Person, who also checked after the fact with my company insurance, she was told I was good till the end of the month as well, only to be told the next day that information was wrong. How can the people that work for benefits representatives give you wrong information and not be held accountable. Now I have $3,700 in medical bills I can't afford along with a Cobra package that I can't afford as well. My wife would have waited if the people on the phone new their job and given the correct information. I will have medical insurance at my new company when I reach my 90 days in November. on june21,2013 i went to the nail club and spa to get my eyebrows wax. one of the technicians dropped hot wax into my right eye. the technician did nothing to correct the situation, but hand me a tissue. no one ever apologize or ask me how i was feeling or if i was alright. the nail club and spa just told me that i had to pay. after leaving the nail club and spa iwas in extreme pain and i could hardly see, i went straight to my doctor, where he tried to flush the hot wax out of my right eye and he gave me some pain pills. during the next couple of days i was in serve pain, unable tohave any type of light, sunlight or tv in my right eye. I then went to a eye doctor wear he treated me with medicine in my right eye and giving me 2 treaments of trying to flush out the hot wax in my right eye by sticking something in my eye. I also had to wear cocoon shades. The owner of the nail club and spa (mr. chinh nguyen) would not answer my calls or my certified letters. mr chinh nguyen told me about 2yrs later that the reason why he never responded to me because state farm told him not to talk to me. Allstate Insurance Company was very inadqueate when I filled a claim for disability on 8/28/15. I was under the immpression that I had a 7day wait period. After numerous times making contact with them. There was a problem with the medical documentation. Once the issues was resolved I was told many different things. I have paid into this policy for over 4years and felt that I was treated unfairly throughout this process.... Read More

My mother has been living in her home for 47 years. During that time only had to file a claim once due to a storm that damaged fencing about 30 years ago. They had Farmers Ins for a previous home as well with no claims. Found out through an electrician and a utility company that the wiring in her house is a HIGH FIRE HAZARD and it has already destroyed a couple of outlets, so power has been turned off in half of the house to avoid a fire. Farmers claims it is everyday wear and tear and not covered under the policy, but they do appreciate being a loyal customer for 47 years. Yea right, they benefited by taking her premiums and not helping her at all. The adjuster did say if a fire should occur that the damage would be covered. I told him my mother is 84 years old and uses a walker. If a fire broke out she wouldn't have a chance. So, they are not willing to cover or help with the cost of preventing this high fire hazard, but will to shell out tons of money after a fire has taken place. Does this make sense??? A loyal customer for over 47 years and you are treated like this. Trust me I am moving my Mothers homeowners policy to another insurance that CARES!!!... Read More

I realized recently that I was paying entirely too much money for my auto policy, umbrella policy, home owner's policy, and three fire policies for rental properties. I cut my bill by 2/3 for auto and almost half for the others by going to Geico. I have been a customer with a few claims for very small amounts of money for 17 years. I obtained quotes from several other companies that were on par with Geico. Even after threatening to take all of my business elsewhere Liberty Mutual wouldn't lower any policies. So off to Geico I go. Ironically I called for a quote after I switched auto policies and it was $1000 cheaper than my prior policy, although still almost twice as much as Geico. Clearly Liberty Mutual could care less about keeping long term clients and has no problem taking advantage of them. Good riddens.... Read More

On June 21st, 2015 I had a tree fall onto my property. After filing a claim, my adjuster instructed me to get a few estimates for the tree removal as well as the repair for my fence (where the tree had fallen through and onto my property). A few days later, I sent all the documentation and never heard back from him. It was constantly an issue trying to get a hold of him as he never answered his calls and would only call back minutes before leaving his office. When I finally got a hold of him, I asked if the insurance would cover the tree removal in full, and he assured me they would but that the settlement for the fence repair would take a little longer. Weeks later he contacted me again to tell me the insurance would cover less than 30% of the entire costs for both tree removal and fence repair. I did not feel it was a fair settlement so I asked him to explain the numbers and he was very vague with the numbers, changing what we had initially spoken about when I had filed my claim (i.e. deductible rates, estimate costs. and numbers for the depreciation).
