Insurance Complaint against: The Travelers Companies

Long story short: Storm damaged the roof. Claim made and paid. During roof repairs, the roof was off and another storm hit causing damage to incur inside of the house. Roofers insurance was to pay, but wanted to investigate and recommended put in claim with homeowners insurance "Travelers". Travelers made inspection, issued a check and serval days cancelled payment on check, as orginal estimate was inaccurate. Eventually, Travelers denied the claim because of faulty repair. I went on vacation to Puerto Rico for two weeks, leaving my son in charge of my three dogs. I cam back to find my house completely torn up. Trash was all over the place, along with dog feces and urine. The carpet was completely ruined and chewed up in high traffic areas. Nationwide said they are not liable to cover this damage and mind you we had only one other small claim in eight years. I have severe fibromyalgia and have mobility trouble. I have rugs and plastic covering the really bad areas and I am unstable with my balance as it is. I believe they are help culpable for this reason. Plus, I only want them to replace the carpet, not replace the tile, clean and paint the walls. I have a hard time cleaning up at times, but I know this Nationwide is not on my side.... Read More

I've had a homeowners ins. policy for 30 years with Allstate and as I've gotten older and my income began to suffer from layoffs and unforseen exspenses I.ve had to reevaluate my expenses with my homeowners ins.policy under review first. I found that I've been paying excessive premiums for 30 years I was sold coverages I didn't need deductables so low that it caused my premiums to continue to grow each year, my ins. premium went from $346 to over $1500 today. With my income in decline my wife unemployed for the last 3 years I sought to change my premium and update my coverages that's when I found out more about what I was paying for. My house is the only dwelling on my property I don't have a garage I've been paying for other dwelling on my property for 30 years I feel I've been overcharge and under represented by my ins. agent for that entire period and want justice or satisfaction from my ins. company and I've filed a complaint with the State Ins. Bureau for a remedy to my situation. Now that understand how minorities are treated when they don't understand what they are buying and aren't explained how the deductables can lower they're premiums and overall cost of ins.... I had a 69 Camaro. I was washing the car for a show on the side of my house. A girl on learners permit, cast on her foot, came around the corner an crushed the entire passenger side of the car. It has been (2) month's now. And Geico insurance is still giving me excuse after excuse. I now have just put in a CLAIM to my Insurance to get my Car fixed. This is a load of crap. the car has exstensive damage. i have made 2 car payments.i'm paying insurance ,AND GEICO IS DRAGGING THERE FEET, WITH NO CARE IN THE WORLD. My truck was stolen from a dealership lot, where is was for about 4 months on a consignment sale. My truck was found 4 days later, 2 hours away in another county, completely stripped, no tires, rims, carpet, seats, dash equipment, etc., nothing left except the dash board with holes. Farm Bureau denied my claim, they said I stole the truck or my Son had something to do with the theft. I have no criminal background, except a speeding ticket for 7 miles over the limit, in the last 25 years. I have no financial needs for the theft. I am not in debt, except for my home. After putting an ad on Craigs list to offer a $1K reward that would lead to the conviction of the theft of my truck, I was contacted by someone that saw the photo & thought the truck they were about repair at their shop, had my special "after Market" rims on it. This ended up breaking wide open a 6 county Auto theft ring. The men were caught & they are serving State & Federal prison time, since some items were taken across State lines. Still Farm Bureau came up with another reason to deny my claim. I was rear ended by this car they put the claim on my insurance so they took the deductable 500 out of the est. to be able to get the car fixed. then i had to rent a car. it has been 3 weeks they say they havent recieved a police report to verify how the wreck happened. I WAS REAR ENDED. plus we have the same insurance. My custom built food concession trailer was damaged in a hail storm. After multiple agumentative hone conversations with the claims rep, Travelers recieved a verbal quote from an out of town trailer repair shop WITHOUT my consent and never actually previewing the damaged trailer in person (this was simply a phone quote never viewing the damage). Travelers verbal was less than $9000; My certified Trailer shops written estimate was $16,310. Travelers quickly hung their hat on their guy who gave the verbal at less than $9K. Then this same company (after actually seeing my damaged trailer (this is Travelers chosen shop) presented an actual written estimate exceeding $21K (this is an expensive trailer)! After hearing this Travelers began the backstroke that their initial verbal was what they would pay! The claims agent who previewed my trailer stated to me when he saw it for the first time "The is the first time I have ever dealt with a Concession Trailer and this will be a learning experience for me!" What I learned from this is Travelers made a huge mistake in their hasty verbal quote and is attempting to shove it down my throat and not pay the full claim! When I worked for a State Farm Agent from 1989 to 2000 we were allowed to apply the over 50 discount immediately on the insured's fiftieth birthday. Now that I turned fifty, I find out that I can't get the discount until my renewal. I want to know why & if this can be reversed & I am refunded the money that is owed to me.... Read More

After a week in the hospital for very poor breathing, it was discovered I had mold in my crawl space. I have paid for mold insurance for over 25 years. When the claim was made and the insurance company ( Selective) came out to investigate, the claim was denied. They said that the mold came in fro the cinder block. I have had several water leaks prior to changing over my cooper pipes to pvc because I hav well water which causes pin holes in the pipes.
