Insurance Complaint against: American Family Insurance

I am giving you the background on my claim which I believe entails fraud on the part of American Family or their representative Brad Tagliapetra of Fond du Lac.I wish to pursue a separate fraud complaint which is: He told me that my camper was worth $12000. I told him that I cannot replace it for that. He told me to buy extra insurance. He asked how much more do I want. He said do u want $10 ,!% or $20,000 . I chose $20,000 as it would cover replacement cost. I am paying $32.30 a month for this extra coverage. The policy he says I have cost $12 a month. I will send you the proof from another AMFAM agent. I emailed the CEO on down to my agent over 20 times asking why am I paying the $32.20 a month. Its not a billing mistake as I called in July of this yr to ask about my policy. Again his office stated that I have REPLACEMENT VALUE. Im still paying an extra $200 over the basic policy cost.for the yr premium. NO ONE will answer why? I stated that one of two things is an explanation. Either I have replacement value or American family or its agents are selling me a product that they know I will never see. I have had AArp discount insurance since 2008 my husband had to in hospital twice under their network hospital each time they only paid 1000.00 total for is hospital bill. The reason we could not afford any other medical insurance. We are 61 and only have limited income because my husband is on disability. The reason is they do not pay for the first day of being in hospital and this first day is where 80% of hospital bill so the patient ends up paying out of their pockets emergency surgery will be on that first day and the insurance will not paid even though you go to network hospital even if you have to travel 100 miles. These discount insurance should be closed down they are bankrupting patients but if you do not have insurance you will be taxed by the government. My husband is disable and are income is very limited and we can not afford good medical insurance.... Read More

May 2012 called Superior Insurance, an agent I was using, to report a vehicle to be taken off ins. Brandon @ Superior convinced me to keep it on the vehicle I no longer had so that "I would not have a lapse in coverage.". In June called him again advised I wanted the veh. taken off, still he said to leave it on, in July I called again demanding the veh. be taken off, he only half processed the endorsement so that Aug I again received a bill with the veh. still on the policy. Called GMAC Insurance, was told I HAD to pay even tho the endorsement was clear to them and I would be refunded the following month. Sept. came around AGAIN receive a bill with the veh. listed, I transferred the insurance to a new company. Called GMAC Insurance to find out where my refund was for the July-August payments made on the veh. to be taken off along with the prior balance I was being charged. They stated there was no refund due. RIP OFF....Do not deal with either of these companies!... Read More

Paid for full coverage insurance when we received our policy and insurance cards in the mail a month later they were accompanied by another letter stating "application not accepted during initial underwriting period. Robin Sidbury has undisclosed criminal history". What is THAT supposed to mean? Why is a "crimial history" important if it does not apply, is not there, and not asked for initially? Never had this happen before. Totally insulted, feel violated. Down right unprofessional. This company should be closed down. I (Cheryl Sidbury) am so mad I feel like suing for defamation. My husband and I are business owners and have worked hard to build a decent reputation and now THIS is sent to us from these bottom feeders.... Read More

we feel we have a legitimate claim with citizens, (a state insurance company) we were put in CITIZENS by our esteemed Governor Scott..(when our previous company would not insure any homeowners policies in the state of Florida) There was a tornado several miles from our house(a small villa HOA) we lost shingles on our roof, and had a wet ceiling in our laundry room and worse, had a hole in the ceiling in our bedroom, and water leaks in our den ceiling, water on the floor, a ruined carpet and furniture...We immediately call CITIZENS!! the adjuster came and said we were not covered..They paid us $800.00 for the furniture and rug, but said they held no responsibility for the rest of the damage.. They said we needed a new roof, and suggested we put up a "blue tarp" ...and they would not pay for anything...Needless to say, we immediately called in a licensed roofer, got all the necessary paper work and permits completed, and proceeded to put up the new roof.(We paid the $6000.00 for the roof.)..This was done in November of 2011.. In case of another storm, and being prepared for the 2012 hurricane ..At this point, our bedroom ceiling and wall was turning black, and we discovered MOLD,the inside hole was getting bigger and we were also... My car was involved in a hit and run accident Dec of 2011 and is still not resolved. A picture of the vehicle license plate was taken and a police report was filed. At least and maybe longer, 2 months after accident I'm told I must retrieve police report myself. I do this and then told Ins. of hit and run vehicle cannot locate driver. Now told by Knightbrook Ins. Co.(Ins. of hit and run vehicle) they never received police report when they have been sent at least 2 copies after stating they didn't receive it. Car was looked at for damages and came to $1800 something. What else can I possibly do? The vehicle that struck my car was a Med Ex truck. Please help!... Read More
