In August I applied for a health plan, which was supposed to take effect on Sept 1st. I made my husband primary. I selected LifeWish because of their ad on TV that claims to provide coverage to pre-existing conditions, of which I have a few.
I waited, and the 1st came and went with no acknowledgment or status. I finally called them last week, and the very cheerful rep said "should be ready any day!". Well, a few days later we received a packet with the denial for coverage. Their reason? My husband's weight (and he is over-weight; he is also a lot healthier than I am). Nothing mentioned about my pre-existing conditions.
As long as they stalled with that application, I know that the underwriter had to see red flags in my history. If my husband's weight was such a concern then they should have denied it right away. Instead, they used it as the scapegoat to avoid coverage for me. Can't prove this ~ I just know it in my gut. (But they did include a clause that states rights to an appeal, with higher rates. Translation: HIGH rates! But we are low-income.
And I imagine that this kind of deceptive b.s. will continue until Obamacare is in full force, and they'll raise the rates up the ying-yang for the higher-risk ones....

I was hit head on my a young driver that was texting on his phone. Fortunately we both were only going 20 MPH. This happened on 8/20/12. The insurance adjustor did not see my car until 8/22/12, who then called me and said I am totalling your car, it is unrepairable. Heard nothing from her for the rest of the week. Gave her until Monday the 27th, she said oh I have to go and look at it again,asked why, "well I have to write my report and then I have to try and get a value beings it was a brand new car (6 weeks old). I called her daily, I get the story, well I am the only adjustor for this area, told her that is not my problem. On Labor Day weekend 8/31, she leaves a message at my house, (mind you I'm the one that has been calling her all along from my cell) and states the check for your car will be going out on Tuesday 9/4. Not so, now we have to wait to the Total Recovery Dept to call and let us know they are sending us this form (262) that needs to be signed and returned, then the check will go out. Wrong! As of this date 9-11-12 have never received the form, so I went to DMV myself and picked up the form, spent $39.00 to have the form sent overnight, hoping to avoid anymore delays, wrong again! I was hit by one of their members. I received the run-around from the 1st time I contacted them. They continued to move me from person to person...it was ridiculous!
Then I wanted to close my claim and they sent me an offer that didn't even cover my medical bills let alone my time from work. The second and final offer of which they were very rude covered my medical but only covered about 20% of my lost wages.
This is bad business and I hope no one gets hit by one of their members. This is horrible business!
Thank god my coverage is with a better company with morals and ethics!!!!...

Insurance companies are crooks. they want your money and run. I ask for a quote and send the payment to insure my commercial property but Farmers insured some other property and is not returning my money. Now they want me to pay the balance of the premium on this property which I have never insured and sending collection agencies after me. I have all the paper work and wrote many letters and called hundred time but no response. I am in process of filing a legal action but Farmers knows that that will cost me more than the premium. File a complaint with insurance commissioner but in my opinion they are the pimps of insurance companies and do nothing....

I had an associate join my practice 3 mos ago, since then we have been fighting over and over to get him on as provider so that any dental work he does will be covered as a network provider. As of today we have had no response to our application and my doctor has recieved nothing but denials of payment for services since then. You would think they would hurry the process along to make our doctor a provider???? I have spoken to customer service and provider services and they have never really told me what the hold up is about. I have given them all the necessary documents to process the application and yet I still have not recieved reponse. They acutally accused that maybe my doctor was not liscensed????

Tornado Damaged my home on 4/27/2011. The company sent an IA, who called and made an appointment for Friday 4/29/11, for 8 am. Around 2 pm, I called him because it had long since pased 8 am, he said he was not coming that day. Would be there on Sat 4/30/11. He came on Saturday as he said, he didnt really talk to me, he decided that one of our neighbors was our contractor, which I dont quite understand his conclusions because he had arrived with his contractor referral. The contractor he referred brought 2 hispanics, who were very afraid of heights, he left them with no water, no lunch. The tarp they attempted to install blew off by nightfall.
He told the Ins Company, I was crazy, and that I was shopping contractors for the amount that I wanted. This guy was and is an IDIOT. I hired an Engineer, requested a meeting, the claim manager, the IA and the Engineer arrived, they did not look for damage, the claim manager didnt take out the estimate that the IA had written to see if he may have missed anything. They didnt do anything. EXCEPT the IA LIED. He said he had agreed cost to repair, with all contractors. He had not spoken to one, and lied saying that he had. I bought homeowner Ins. from Farmers Insurance Co.
(Foremost Ins.Co.) Dec.31,2010 amt $198.40 I paid down,
Jan.21,2011 amt $634.00 I finished paying.
1/18/2011 they returned the $198.40 to my checking acc. They kept the $634.00 for my hazard ins. My Ins has always been due in Nov. I guess the $634.00 was all they needed for 10 month's.Ins.
Ins. co. sent a letter saying the Ins. cost $1,289.00 a year.
Beginning 11/17/2011 Ending 11/17/12 is $1,289.00.
Processed:September 08,2011:
I am 72 years old & had been sick for over a year, & not opening my mail as I should have.
I have made no claims, nothing has changed,I have been paying what ever the loan co. said, untill I got better & started checking on thing's.
This amount is more than double the amount. I paid for Ins when I bought it.
Plus loan co. is charging me $132.63 a month for this Ins.
They are both cheating me as much as they can & I am about to lose everything....

I was severly mistreated by the female manager/assistant manager when I arrived Saturday morning September 1,2012.After a newly hired employee told me she was new on the job and someone else will have to help me with me insurance renewal.I said ok.and then I took the Geico flyer away from her and was about to take a seat when suddenly The lady who opened the office said to me in a threatening/agressive tone:You don't have to treat her like that! She is a new employee and you can call the toll free number for your quote or wait until I get through with this man sitting here or leave! And I don't like your "Body Language"!I replied "My Body language"; That can be anything! She turned back to another customer and replied."That was rediculous!
