Insurance Complaint against: State Farm Insurance
Coverage Type: Homeowners Insurance

Dishwasher waster water hose fissured/cracked and leaked. Noticed hardwood floors starting to buckle. Called State Farm agent to see if I should file claim. She said no if actual damage is less than deductible. Called plumber to determine source of water. Couldn't get to dishwasher because of swollen hardwood. He called Utah Disaster to remove swollen wood in front of dishwasher. Discovered source of water and found water encroached to most of hardwood flood, into cabinets, wall and island. Called agent. She said to go ahead with mitigation. Removed much of floor, cabinets, damaged wall. Adjuster came out and denied claim saying it was a slow leak plus didn't cover mold damage. Tiny bit of mold behind dishwasher -- only a few days old. Adjuster said Utah Disaster was not reputable and demolished most of kitchen to get repair work. He also felt I was in cahoots with them in order to get a "new" kitchen. I had never before spoken with them nor met them -- didn't even know who they were -- what an insult. Now, I'm forced to sue State Farm to have my demolished kitchen rebuilt. Adjuster said I would lose because of broad language in policy relating to water damage. Since June 25, 2012, I could not get though to this company because of so called phone problems. I cannot get though to my claim adjuster to find out why I have not been paid since my on the job accident. I wrote to her to call me, nothing, when the switchboard went manual July 3rd(from automation system) they don't take messages, when transferring me to the extension no answer because that part of the phone system is not working yet but they transfer you anyway. A procedure I was suppose to have, had to be canceled because no one could get though to the company to get on approval.... Read More

I was in Puerto Rico for two weeks, leaving my 21 year old son in charge of my house and animals. When I returned the house was destroyed. Animal feces where all over the walls,floor, and carpet. We have had Nationwide for about eight years now, only with one other claim. Typically, Insurance companies want to keep their customers happy. Unfortunately this is not the case with Nationwide. They denied all of the claim. I am disabled and have mobility issues. I have not been able to clean up the carpet. It has been chewed by one of the dogs. The carpet is destroyed. I feel that this is an unfair denial of this claim. I am not very fond of Nationwide and if this does not change, we will change companies.... Read More

I have redrock insurance/lonestar /maverick needless to say i dont know who im paying. I have been with them 3 yrs. and in that time have only received 6 bills i would have to go to the office to pay my bill and as always i would complain about no bill all they would do was check my address whichhasnt changed. I also recently found out every 6 months i was suppose to get a declaration page never got one of those. A week ago i lent my truck to my boyfriend and he got tboned on the side of the bed my insurance called and said they wont pay because i cant loan my vehicle out was never informed of that. Yesterday i received in the mail a claim form so they can get that to me but nothing else. These people are a joke they took advantage of me because my late hysband always took care of these things so i had no idea what they should have been providing for me and now i could be in serious financial trouble because i gave permission for someone to drive my truck.... i have been with aflac since 2004, made a claime because i was diagnosed with cancer,(covered with aflac cancer insurance) and have recieved no contact with my agent. I called the 800 number, which they did comply that they would send out the needed forms, however my complaint is with my agent Kim, and thats all i know, (no last name) whom has done nothing..NOTHING to help me in any way, when I talked with the 800 people, they blew it off as so what.just call the 800 number.so my problem is this agent getting paid for her non services? if that is the case, then i would think you would not want her in your employ She is certainly NOT worthy of any income from your company. I know this might be insignificant to some that i am irritated about pet insurance. But, shouldn't some one oversee this huge industry? I have paid premiums for7 months and submitted three claims all with the necessary paperwork. The shelter where I adopted my cat from treated my cat for diarrhea and didn't note any diagnosis. This insurance company asked for additional notes or statements from a vet/hospital that I took my cat to. The rep from the insurance company said I made a statement to the vet that I believed that my cat had symptoms since I adopted him. I asked the rep " Is this denial due to my supposed statement? the reply was yes! An insurance company can deny a claim because of heresay or a statement made by someone other than a doctor? In fact both letters of denial I received were in reference to a possible condition of ear mites which were not present but I was give medicine for just in case the test was not conclusive. I did not give this to the cat because I wanted to treat one condition first, the diarrhea. It just seems that they were going to deny this claim no matter what. Have had Farmers for almost 1 year now. Told agent when first signed up that we had tee-lock shingles on our roof. She didn't care, and wrote our policy with a deductible of $1,000.00. We have never made a claim before, so when we were hit with a bad hail storm in June of this year, we put in a claim for damage. The adjuster came out and advised us that we had a $9,000.00 deductible on wind/hail damages. I checked into it, and in January we were sent a very vauge letter letting us know that we were assessed a 5% deductible. It didn't state on what it would be attached to, so I am thinking that it would be another 5% of the repair costs. No, it is attached to the ENTIRE REPLACEMENT COST OF THE HOME of $183,000.00. So, for an $11,00.00 claim, we were offered $1,500.00 for the repairs. I have been in contact with the claims department, which of course, they will not budge. I have severe neck and upper back pain due to arthritis for years. My coverage has, up till this year, allowed 2 visits per year to surgical center for epidoral shots which dramatically ease the pai. All of a sudden, and without notice from Horizon BCBS, my pain doctor told me that my policy does not cover surgical center visits but only hospital. My plan is the same, so i called BCBS. They told me that my coverage rolled over and they no longer cover surgical center expenses. How can they do this? I wanted to change companies but i found out i can not do this till the end of the term. I am stuck with this crappy insurance company that changes the rules without telling you. HELP!!!... My husband had a similar experience with BCBS, but they are denying the epidoral shots claims. He is still allowed to go the the surgical center.

Dog had salmon poisoning, $6,300 in bills - The title says it all. My dog needed 6 days to be treated for salmon poisoning which was diagnosed late. VPI's limit is approx. $300 for this treatment. They claim to have a $7,500 coverage limit. In order to reach this limit, your pet would likely have to develop/require 75%+ of chronic diseases/tests. I called VPI and stated how misleading their coverage limit claim was, considering their coverage limits for each diagnosis was so miniscule. Class action lawsuit please. At least my dog survived, now to deal with the debt.... Read More

In my opinion California Casualty uses sleazy tactics to deny claims. I have been insured by them for 14 years and when i finally had a homeowners claim for hail damage instead of sending out an adjuster they sent out an engineer whose sole purpose was to refute evidence for the purpose of denying my claim when the evidence in favor of my claim is overwhelming. Shortly after filing my claim they dropped my homeowners insurance as well. Bottom line this is a cut rate insurance company and you get what you pay for!... Read More
