I have had health insurance with Aetna since 2009. This is an individual policy. Every year the premium ratchets up 15-20% Currently, it is an obscene 1178 a month. The annual deductible is 2500. After the deductible is filled, they charge a 50% co-pay to a maximum of 17000. So, in about four years, I have paid close to $40,000 in premiums. Aetna has yet to pay one claim. Recently, I have had a claim for a very expensive drug. I have also had some major claims where I have surpassed the deductible. My doctor sent a prescription for me to my local pharmacy. The drug is a specialty drug. It costs 3700 a dose. The local Walgreens sent it over to there Specialty Pharmacy division. After two weeks of phone calls with Walgreens, they advised me that they were ready to ship upon payment. I gave them a credit card number. They did not ship the drug to my doctor. I called them back. They told me that Aetna called them at the last minute. They instructed Walgreen's to fax the prescription to the Aetna Special Pharmacy. Talk about Obamacare I am on Medicare and have to pay over $5,000 just for a supplement policy. I get it thru AARP that is supposed to be helping seniors get the best deal. But United Health Care will not sell a policy that I would have a $147.50 payment one time a year but would save me over 1200.00 a year. United Health Care just does not want to give up the extra money they can make and that is the only reason I can think of for not selling the G policy. The bad part we can not change to another company because we have a medical problem. United Health Care could sale this policy as all supplement policies are the same for all companies and they can sale them all if they want to.... Read More

They claim that preventive care is covered. My doctor wanted to me to get counseling for how to live with diabetes. When they called for authorization, it was denied. They said they will only cover children. I needed to find a rheumatologist. Every office I called that listed united as one of there insurance providers, would not take new patients. They said it is too hard to deal with them and get paid. Here is the one that is really setting me off. I had a partial knee replacement last year, I now need one on my other knee. My company went from BCBC to united since than. I scheduled it two weeks ago yesterday. I let my company know I would be out starting Nov. 1st. On Thurs I got a call from the surgeons office, about the payment for the doctor. No problem, I will call you Fri. When I am home and pay you. I called and made the payment. I received a call several min. Later back from the surgeons office asking me to help intervene, because my authorization is still in pending status, and she can not speak with whoever is reviewing it. I was quoted a price from USAA for my new vehicle. I was with State farm for 6 years and USAA prior to that for about 8 years. The reason I left USAA for State Farm was because the rates would go up and they never had a good explaination. Well I was stupid and thought I would try them again. After explaining to USAA I was with them before I wanted to give them another try. SOOOOOOO they quoted me a great price for my new car and I changed over to them three months ago. SOOOOOOOOO they pulled the Bait and Switch on my policy, charged me more than what I was quoted and then when I called them about it and called them out on it, the reply I received was, " I.m offended that you would accuse us of that." I've never been so happy to fire an insurance company. Every year for the past 10 years they increased my homeowner's premium by an average of 13.7%. Then in August of 2013 they increased my premium by 49.3% despite the fact that I have had very few, minor claims. I even went on their website and filled out a new application for insurance and they quoted me a rate 50% less than I was paying - so obviously there is NO loyalty with this company. I got the same home, auto and liability coverage from AMICA for $6948 per year LESS than Liberty Mutual! Don't wait for this to happen to you...cancel your Liberty Mutual policy immediately!... After 13 years of overcharging me, I finally left. Since I left Allstate on 12 June 2013, they've been upset that I left. Upset and rude when I call to talk to them. They were also really upset when I made several complaints to the BBB. They were also really upset when I made several complaints to the BBB. They are now tryiny to extort $352.88. I am fighting cancer since 2007. I have NO EXTRA money for a disgruntled company making Billions profit from decades of overcharging Customers. I never drovee my vehicle more than 5000 miles a year, but the were charging me like I was driving 30, 000 miles a year for 13 years. I am suffering from their constant harrassment. Now they have a collection agency harrassing me everday. Allstate advertises Accident Forgiveness, but they don't tell you, YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. YES YOU HAVE TO PAY EXTRA TO GET IN THE PROGRAM. I have been with Florida Cancer Specialists for 8 years and Humana has now decided to end the contract with them in March of 2014. With no explanation as to why, I am very concerned. I have been seeing the same hemotologist for 8 years and once you have a form of cancer and are confident in the Dr. you have it is very hard to change to another facility and Dr. Please, someone help us here in Florida to save ourselves from having to change insurance companies just to be able to see the Dr. we want to see. I understand I can change my plan with Humana and get out of network care with the same Dr. but that would means more expense to me and my family. Please help Humana to see what it is like to have to change Dr. when you have cancer. It is already devistating enough to have cancer and then after 8 years find another Dr. you feel confident with. Vehicle hit my home. Insurance rep/adjuster assessed damages with THEIR insurance contractor. Structural Engineer assessed damages. Travelers wants to give me approximately $20,000.00 estimates I received upward of $100,000.00 plus. Travelers has received one estimate denied to see the others. Travelers has now put a demand and I have to hire a private adjuster at MY EXSPENCE. Travelers should be representing me as I am their client instead they are protecting themselves. I have tried to file a claim with Travlers twice for Bricks in my Laundry Room deterioating and mold in my Rec. Room. I spoke with an Agent today and was denied for a second time. When I asked "What was I surpose to do, stay here until the house falls in on me ", and I was told "YES". Is this the way you talk to a paying customer, I think not. Are we paying for Insurance but not being covered. It sounds to me like a Scam, we're paying for a service that we are not getting, at least not in the way we expected.... Read More
