My basement was filled to the joists with water after Hurricane Irene and the flood adjuster estimated (because he didn't arrive until a week later after the flood waters had subsided) that my flood line was 7 feet. My basement ceiling is unfinished, and it was obvious that: a) the water did reach the joists, and b) that the water rushing into my basement was not calm, so there was obvious sloshing and wave action involved. My first floor floors are clearly damaged from moisture! The floor damage portion of my claim was denied by Selective Insurance Co. Their reason was "we insure against direct physical loss by or from flood". They also stated that "any damage to my floors is indirectly related to the flooding event". How can obvious moisture damage NOT be directly related to this event?... Read More

A " SELECTIVE Auto Policy holder hit and run us in NC. We chased him for blocks until he stopped after 1/2 mile from crash scene. Pickup truck dragging a 20' x 10' wide trailer bounced into our lane hitting the right front door and wheel on 9/24/2012. It's now 10/01/2012 and repeated calls go unanswered. Just get leave your name and number. My first call received a claim # 21241646 and that within 24 hrs we would be called. That was another big falsehood. $2,000 of damage. Door won't open. Tire scraping fender. Other damage ???... Read More

The adjuster spoke to him on the day of this posting. We had the wrong number for him. He said once we got the correct contact information everything has been great. The claim has been resolved and he is very happy with the service.

Hello all, It really saddens me to see all of the horror stories I have read about on this site. I too am having issues with MetLife regarding my disability claim. It's so sad the lenghts these company's will go thru to deny your claim to save money. If you search online you will see many pending law suits of others dealing with the same sort of issues. It is important for your story to be heard! Everyone needs to report these companys to your states Insurance Board. The more we report them the faster this can be resolved for all! If your disabled apply at once for Social security disability before you have no quarters remaining and only qualify for a min payment of less than 800.00

  • General - I feel abused by this company
Denver Health & Hospitals provided ambulance service May of 2010. They billed me for base rate (850.00) plus milage (108.00) which I have paid, but they say they also provided Oxygen (51.00) Medication (20.00) what kind they do not say, ECG monitor (70.00) and IV NO blood draw (40.00). Why am I being billed for a non service? I was NOT provided these services and have been protesting them since day one. They have now turned ne over to collections for $164.00. I refuse to pay these charges, as I have copies of the emergency room report and do not see anywhere that I had oxygen or a monitor on when admitted. Please help me get this cleared up and off my credit report. Thank you... Read More

On December 31, 2011 my son who had just turned 21 the month before was on his way to having dinner with his two best friends. They had planned to go out for dinner then go back home, park the car and walk 8 blocks up to town for the fireworks and festivities for New Years Eve. On the way to dinner, they were traveling down Harper Avenue in clinton Township, just several miles from the house. The day before it had snowed alot. Even though Harper is a 4 lane street and plenty of businesses around the street lighting there is not adaquate at all. My son was trying to get into the right drive way and due to poor lighting and lots of snow my son did not see a man in the road. The man had either already been hit by another car or had fallen into the street. At that point my son hit him with the car.The elderly gentleman was pronounced dead at the scene. Needless to say my son and his two best friend were devastated ! My son has not been the same since that terrible day. He was cleared of any wrong doing. He had not been drinking, a breathalizer test was given to him immediately when the police came to the scene of the accident. We used Safeco for our auto insurance for years. My husband and I have decent driving records, no issues in the past 3 years for either of us. Our policy has gone up every single year, small amounts at first. This summer our agent notified us of a company that would save us well over 50% of what Safeco was charging, for the same amount of coverage. Naturally we decided to switch. We switched about a week and a half before our policy expired. Our agent notified Safeco and my husband notified Safeco. We were assured that no further monies would be withdrawn by EFT. Well, guess what? They still took out the money. When contacted, by myself, my husband and our agent, they said that their underwriting and billing departments are different systems and one has to update before the other department is notified. Every time we contact them they say it should be today or up to three business days because accounting still has not been updated. I'm sorry, but in this day and age shouldn't updates be daily or even hourly, or at least occurring more often than every three days? Maybe I just do not understand how this works. my mother was insurance by ohio state life insurance co. THE only bill I found was was 1994. she stared taking paymemt for her checking account in 1994. the payment was now takin from her account by Americo Financial life and annuity. I wa checking her record and they stop taking 100.00 amoth from her account in Novemver. Icall Americo to see what was happening with the policy. I finally got a answer. They told me that the policy was discontinue because of none payment. I asked then whay I was told that they sent up paper to let us know what happen. They said that the paper were sent to an address that my mother had not lived in over 10 years. the policy is for about 50,000.00 it seen that 100.00 a month 1,200.00 a year is too much Americo said they wiil sen the paper to see if we can get the policy reinstated I just wonderin if this is happening to other...
