Delays upon delays. Continually putting the blame for long term approval of every small detail on layers upon Higher level decision makers whose identities remain unknown. Nothing can be handled on the "field" level. Even attorneys can "only carry the message Back and forth as if immediate electronic communication is unavailable. It is clearly a ploy to put more economic pressure on their adversaries and many times Chartis (formerlyAIG) convey that idea smugly. Pipes broke while we were away from home for a few days back in January 2011. Water damage was severe - all of the sheetrock and furniture on the first floor was destroyed. Floors gone. We called insurance company and they said they would send out an adjuster. That was it - no instruction or suggestion as to what we were entitled to under the policy. So we moved in with friends for 10 days and made everyone uncomfortable until we realized that the policy would have paid for a hotel. Adjuster was rude and did not respond to any of our concerns. After about 6 weeks, we were offered a ridiculous settlement that would not have allowed us to repair the house. The adjuster said that one of their construction companies quoted the repairs and would do it for that price. What kind of nonsense is this? Three construction estimates that i got were at least 35-40% higher. I never heard of the company that the adjuster kept pushing and i did not fell comfortable agreeing to use them. That is when the adjuster stopped returning my calls and pretty much left us to fend for ourselves. So we hired a local contractor and a lawyer. I did a search for rates on homeowners insurance and was contacted by several companies. One that I was contracted by was AAA, and when I talked to the agent and gave him all of my information on my house, he came back with a quote of $657.00 a year. My so called agent, which is another story, sent me papers to sign stating the amount of $657.00 and I signed them and sent them back to him. On the designated day, they took the amount out of my account, and said that I would receive my policy information within 10 days. Upon receiving that information, I saw that instead of the $657.00 per year, they wanted me to pay $979.00 per year. They had upped my policy from covering $157,000 to covering $274,035, with another $27, 403 for other structures, which I do not have any other structures on my property, so they made that up by themselves in order to charge even more. Needless to say I was outraged, and called my so called agent, and got the normal, I will look into it and call you back, which I knew was BS, and they had my account number so they could just deduct whatever they wanted. When you take out a life insurance policy you believe that the husband and the wife will have the same end date if the policy is a whole life policy. Not so with Prudential-- my policy covered me until I was 65 years old and then cashed out. My wife on the other hand date did not cash out until she was 83. How I missed this fact I don't know but I did. Another fraudulent thing they pull is back dating the policy so you supposedly qualify for a cheaper rate. They do not tell you that when you hit 65 you must pay an additional year of premiums because of the so called back dating. Let the buyer beware when dealing with this insurance company. In fact it would probably be prudent to very carefully check any whole life insurance policy you may carry.... Read More

My husband has had health ins with bcbs for 30 years. I found out this morning after making monthly payments, every month, that my husband's health insurance was cancelled back in Jan 12. He has been without health insurance for 6 months and I am just finding out. Not the first notice or warning that this was going to happen was ever received. I called, got a snippy representative, which is not uncommon with bcbs. This happens each time we have had to call them. After her obvious impatience with dealing with me, I asked to speak to a supervisor. At this point, she decided to listen to my complaint. Whether or not we are able to resolve this, remains to be seen. However, a little customer service from this mega giant in the Michigan insurance industry would be welcome.... Read More

I live in Ivy's Landying Condo in a unit downstair. The unit above me had a washing machine overflow. Consequently, water flooded my unit damaging my kitchen walls and cabinets. They say the lady upstairs (Patty Guskie) is not responsible for damages to my unit since she did not intentionally cause the accident. My insurance (Auto Owners Insurance). Not only will my insurance be higher, but I am not being compensated fairly. It has been a week and blowers are still running in my unit. Repair work has not been completed since my adjuster did not respond to Service Master's request to repair the necessary work for damages in a prompt manner. He did not answer any phone call requests until two days later. They are the company doing the water repair service. I feel that Patty Guskie's insurance company Met Life should be responsible for my repair. Is it true that if damages are not intentional that I will not be compensated by Met Life. Charlotte N. I don't believe that's true. Contact an attorney and have him send a letter, otherwise you will not get your repairs paid for.

Bait and Switch - I enrolled online and was quoted $45 monthly payments. Two months later, I was told that my premium would be $89 after further review of my records. One month later, they sent me a notice that my premium would be $160 a month. The next month, they sent me a notice that my premium would be $260 per month. I haven't had an accident in my life and my last traffic ticket was 13 years ago. I am over 55 yrs old and they gave me no good reason for any of the additional charges. I had to pay a $160 deposit. So, before my rate went up to $260, I called them and told them to cancel my insurance. They sent me a notice of cancellation for non-payment. Now, I get a letter they have turned me over to a credit collection agency. Please help. These people are ruthless!... Read More

As per claim #113127914 in the Progressive system and as stated in Florida HSMV Crash Report Number 01515120 filed by by Seminole County Sworn Deputy Sheriff Jusino on 06/27/2011 at 13:02 Vehicle 1 [not my car] was at fault. I want to be reimbursed for my deductible of $500. It seems to me that because my wife is Brazilian that this claim is expected to go away and I am being discriminated against. I am an American citizen who paid a premium for your services and I want Progressive to make good on the service sold to me. I am unsatisfied with the way this has been handled and I believe I am being treated differently that other clients because my wife is foreign. I want what is rightfully mine and I expect Progressive to do what it promised when it opened the policy. I feel I have been mistreated and want the situation remedied. I submitted copies of the Law Enforcement Short Form Report # 01515120 to Progressive and I have other copies should it have been misplaced.
