I called MetLife to file a death insurance claim. After 3 calls, and no claim form, I demanded a form be emailed to me. Once they received the completed form, they announced it takes 10 business days to process a claim under $10,000. MetLife has not yet mailed me a claim form.... Read More

My baby was born with a heart defect and had to be helicoptered from Jersey to Children's Hospital in Philly. The total bill was 16,000.00 from Medivac. For two years my insurance gave me and medivac the run around. I would call and they would tell me that the invoice was paid direct to Medivac. Then Medivac would call me looking for payment and I told them that BCBS sent it to them direct. Then medivac would call and my insurance company would tell them that the check was sent to me the member. This went on for two years! I had medically fragile baby at home to take care of and they added stress on top of my situation. They finally paid it but those two years of my life were so stressful!... Read More

On 12/30/2011 I was a passenger in my wife's SUV we were rear ended. I got treated at the scene from EMS only. I was offered a settlement of 1,081.00. The letter I have says they are offering the settle directly to me upon receipt of their release form. I signed the form, they mailed a check made out to me and my wife and the EMS. They tell me the letter where they offer this payment to only me was just a form letter they send out everyone. But, it was made out to me Mr. Martinez. I returned the check and wrote void on it and I am demanding for them to honor what they they offered they say they can not do it. So, I am just out now. Farmers got my signature with that promise so they were very deceptive.... Read More

My parents home was broken into. They kicked in a cellar door. Went on a rampage through the house. Took everything and anything they could find including a ceramic sink in the cellar used for draining washer into. They completely trashed the house its unbelievable what they did Our agent interrogated us, sent us a letter in so any words accusing us of staging the robbery and wanted us to sign a letter allowing them to come back at us any time in the future for any questionable evidence. We refused to sign We have never ever made a claim for anything have paid many many years. We have been treated awful. For years they took all the payments to cover such a horrible situation and now don't want to pay. This is complete and total misrepresentation of home insurance.... Read More

This story is horrible!!! First you were violated by strangers then by the insurance company that supposed to help you. Call a public adjuster to go after them.

I, Nancy Jeune, am the one of the caregivers, for Iris W.Votaw, who is an invalid, bed and wheelchair bound from a stroke. Iris has been with State Farm for many years 20+ with Lori Adams 636-916-5555. We had her policy amounts lowered last year April 2011 from very high evaluations on house and liabilities to amounts more in line with todays rates. Sept 28, 2011 Ck #4856 was electrically sent for $440.00 for a semi-annual payment on new amounts. In the next few months I received double bills and called to try to have problem straightened out. The Insurance company had her down as having 2 policies. I was told not to pay them. Then on 01/16/2012 received a one month bill for 116.00 I called again and said she still wanted to pay semi-annually. - Which would make her not due until end of March/beginning of April. By 4/28 She did not receive a bill - so when I called they said she was cancelled for not paying. Called again and asked them to please reinstate her. They looked into it with their management and said they could not. We had horrible hail here on 4/28/12. I sold a house in Dumas Texas I had lived there 2 yrs. I had moved to Austin the realtor told me the house needed a new roof. Per the inspection this was 2009.I filed a claim with AIG my homeowners insurance. I had never filed a claim just paid my premuins. They denined the claim stating it was old damages. Pd nothing. We ended up paying for the whole roof or losing our sale. I then sent the claim to the department of insurance whom had a auto adjuster look at the complaint and said there was nothing we could do. I had a house fire in 2010 and been homeless after the year our living expense insurance gave out. I'm suing Nationwide and will win in the fall of 2012, or the spring of 2013 for the full amount plus expenses, etc. The government is not holding insurance companies accountable for breaking contracts with their customers. I guess we are supposed to have two homes just in case one of them burns and we are left suing the companies for years on end.... Read More

I had a House fire back in 2008 and we had to sue our insurance company too! I'll post my story tomorrow. I feel your pain...hang in there!

was with state farm for 31 years also the auto s then all of a sudden when fl had too many claims they sent a letter and it said we are no linger selling homeowners insurance in fl so i found some one else and i sure dropped my auto policies also. the agent in seminole fl said he could find some thing else mr halloway what a waste and a hatefull cuss of a man so i have no use for state farm... Few Months back during heavy wind storm,my back yard fence with Gazebo got destroyed.I called my adjuster and explained to him the situation.This guy asked me to sent the photographs of the fallen fence and gazebo and asked the length of the damaged portion.As per his request I had emailed him all the information.Without coming physically to check on site he comes with a misleading calculations no where closer to what I paid.I had paid closer to $2000 for the new fence without a gazebo.When I called him to complained about his unfair compensation amount, he came up with lots of stupid reasons to defend his calculation,while the conversation was going on and I was trying to point out his mistakes he hang up on me and didnt even called back to justify his calculation.From this kind of his attitude I can deduce that god forbids if something big happens to my property this company will not compensate me enough to replace my property but will leave me out on the road without any clothes on the body.Iam hunting for some alternate company to insure my cars and house.This American Family are good at ripping off their clients...
