Insurance Complaint against: Progressive

I was rear-ended by a Progressive policy holder on June 12, 2013 because she was using her phone and just plowed into me when I stopped at a 3-way stop sign - replying "I thought you were just gonna go." Da - you have to stop at a stop sign! I contacted a local attorney who was willing to accept my case - I received a call from Progressive on the 13th - wanting to settle the claim - I informed Progressive I was retaining an attorney. On the 14th I received another call from another Progressive Rep. who convinced me not to retain an attorney - they would pay my medical bills, fix my car and give me a little for my pain and time. I took my vehicle in on the 19th and Progressive provided a rental vehicle, gave me a check for $1100 and $2500 was approved for my medical care. The Progressive Rep even told that healcare providers no longer accept third-party checks but just to have them call her directly and I shouldn't have any problem - Progressive works with these providers all the time. Needless to say - so this day (July 10, 2013) I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY MEDICAL CARE BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE AN ATTORNEY !!! Boooo! You idiot, you should have never driven without your own insurance. Please do not waste your money on tuition of any kind. The smart ones of us out there need people like you to clean our houses, flip our hamburgers and serve as prostitutes, etc.

After six months of paying my insurance with this company (Allstate), to complete payment for the full year. I am now being notified that I have thirty days to pay for a person I DO NOT RESIDE WITH (and have shown proof of this) and no longer speak too. He was involved in an accident in Oct of 2009 (under my insurance plan)over three years ago- which surpasses the time frame for any accidents that have occurred under one's insurance plan by another. After three years I was told I could legally not be penalized for another free willed persons actions there after. When I started my insurance with Allstate I had already surpassed the three year mark, accident occurred Oct 2009; I assumed coverage with Allstate this January 2013. Now at the end of my payment period I am being told that I have to insure this individual whom lives with his parents, (who are also covered by Allstate and who's cars were taken and crashed by the same individual last year, Allstate is not penalizing them!!) at the address of 74 Rosemary in Centereach 11720. By law they have no legal right to ask me to insure an individual whom I've shown proof I do not reside with and whom was involved in an accident over three years ago, under my plan. A complaint to the Department of Insurance is in order here. second Why ALLSTATE? All they want is your premium. Get away as fast as you can. You have to be aware of all of the games that the insurance companies play. Do not go with the big 10 insurance companies. Get the smaller insurance companies with whom actually want your business.

I signed up for medical coverage with cigna; prior to that I had coverage with another company. So I cancelled my coverage in December 2012 and enrolled with cigna Jan 2013. Now cigna is telling me that I have pre-existing clause for one year, months after signing up with them. Per cigna I need continuous coverage for one year, now they will not cover certain medical bills. If I knew that in advanced I would not have cancelled my previous ins. My husband retired from Lozier last June, 2012. Prior to retiring he was covered by BCBS (primary) and APWU (secondary) under my employer. He went to Clocktower Chiropractic Inc at Westroads on several dates between 6/21 to 8/1/12. BCBS paid as primary for the dates before 7/1/12. There was some confusion as to who was primary effective 7/1/12 Medicare or APWU. Finally in October, 2012 it was explained that APWU should be primary since my employer has over 50 employees. In the meantime Medicare paid the claims from 7/1 to 8/1/12 as primary. I submitted copies (faxed and mailed) of the Explanation of Benefits from BCBS and Medicare multiple times and they keep denying these claims because their records indicate he has primary medical insurance with another company (other than Medicare). I have called at least four times and each time I get transferred to their Adjustment Department who promise to finalize the claim within 10 days. The next statement shows the same thing - denied due to other insurance. I need someone to help get this resolved asap as it has been over one year without payment.... Read More

I got into an accident and my "representative" did not seem to care at all. Every time I called all I received was a voicemail and he denied my coverage without even letting me know , I found out through other representatives which were rude and pretty much made me uncomfortable. It's been almost a month since the accident. My car is still not fixed , I lost time from work and it has just made my life much more stressful. I will never use progressive nor do I recommended it. These representatives clearly dislike their job and do not care to help the customer.... Read More

We had home insurance with Allstate for several years. One day I discovered someone roaming around my house and went out to confront the person who was leaving in a car but was too late. The next week, our Allstate agent contacted me and said that one of our storage sheds had bad roof and would either have to be repaired or torn down and that the roof on our house would have to be replaced. The shed was torn down, which took about a week. I contacted the agent and informed him that the shed was torn down and that the roof on our house would be replaced. The next week he called and said that our insurance was being cancelled. He was very rude and disagreeable, which was rathre shocking since we tried to accommodate his requests at our expense. I tried contacting Allstate to report the incident but was unable to explain what had happened. As a result, we can no longer get house insurance since our insurance had been cancelled. First consider yourself lucky in as much as Allstate didn't want additional money's from you for anything else. Second Allstate Does not care about you only your premiums. There are plenty of companies out there just like them. Or even worse. Like State Farm, and Nationwide, and Farm Bureau and ERIE especially. Third you can get insurance from a lot of different insurance companies. Two of the best that I know of is AMICA (whom I have) or METLIFE The pencil pushers are trying to get ride of people like you. Have you had any Hail or Wind Damage done to your roof within the last 3 years. If so you can make Allstate pay for your new roof. You can always take some close ups of the roof and shingles and e-mail them to me @ [email protected]

i bought insurance about 6 months ago on a home in carrollton, numerous problems with home,alot of repairs so i was moving in a little at a rime,first someone plowed into my fence and took out about 30 feet of fence,state farm will not pay for that-then someone kicked in my door,stayed at the house for hours and removed my fuse box and all the wires they could cut,my hvac is damaged all the wires removed-state farm said i did not have the insurance long enough for them to pay out for a claim-and since i wasn't living in the house ar the time-they won't help-none of this was in writing or mentioned to me when i paid the high payment-i do not have the money to repair all that destroyed-no electricity-state farm said they would cancel my policy-i am 63 years old and have no way to repair all this.what can i do?... First have a Public Adjuster look at your policy and look for coverage. If you have what is called a HO-3 policy you should be covered. Second if that does not work out their are plenty of attorney's out there that will take this case on for a percentage of the claim. The attorney will go after bad faith claim handling plus what it actually cost to do the repairs. I do know licensed Public Adjusters in your state. So there should not be a problem for you.
