I am a long time State Farm customer. Until The unfortunate hit of super storm Sandy. Then I had a small fire that same year. I have been with this company State farm for over 10 years. I can't believe that State Farm dropped me just because I had two insurance claims that one was out of my control,( The storm Sandy.) The next claim was unfortunately a Fire in my home that thank Goodness did not take my Family, friends or my Life. The family had enough sense to try to put it out and get the fire department to help. I am a Married wife of 21years mother of three with two pets. A dog and a Cat. I have three beautiful daughters who range in the ages 11,15,18. I am very happy with there choices and education paths. with that said I want to make clear I do not want controversy in my life and try to keep a calm life. I guess Insurance companies don't care about that. My insurance ALLSTATE Dropped me. They sent me a letter that they dropping me because of my claims. I need help!!!... Read More

The state u live in offers homeowners insurance policies, A. H. Baker does this in Washington, DC, you probable can get your homeowners policy with the state were u live!

I was with State Farm Ins for a lot of years. I decided to change to see if I could do better on my premium. Went online and filled out an app for Geico. State Farm was raising my premium to 1200/year. Geico came in at 800/year which was a big difference. I also got my daughter and her mother in law to change from allstate to geico. After they sent me my policy for 77/month and took 81 dollars out of my checking account they changed my policy to 1600/yr or 149/month. What I found out was they said because I was hit in the back by Lacy Limo when I was stopped for a light. This accident was not my fault and lacy limos ins paid to fix my car I do not think this is fair, what alternative do I have. Please help me.... Read More

I have to keep working past 65 and my health insurance is asking me to sign up for medicare part A/B so they can cover 20% and let medicare pay 80% this will cost me $128.mo.for the medicare and I get to keep paying the same copay to them that is now covering 100% This is medicare fraud and injustice to people working over 65.... Citizens insurance denied my claim due to a leaking pipe.Citizens insurance letter of denial claimed a 14 day exclusion.Two years later, checking accounts,saving accounts,money market and 30,000 out of my 401 k.The way citizens handled my claim just wasn't satisfactory it was downright evil!Basically citizens insurance is not insurance at all? Citiizens insurance is basically a state run ponzi scheme!This insurance company had no morals from start to finish and citizens insurance never really intends to pay any claim!From my public adjuster which later i found out worked for eleven years for citizens insurance!If you decide to go with citizens insurance, Good luck?Prepare to be be bankrupt and homeless!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I broke my ankle March 24,2013. I had surgery on April 1, 2013, the Hartford Insurance company had a 2week waiting period, paid me for 9 days (April 7 to April 16). The adjuster stated since I sat at a desk I could return to work on April 17,2013. I could not even leave my own house, drive or go to the kitchen to fix myself something to eat. Subsequently I did return to work 4 months later (in much PAIN), now my job is in jeopardy due to the fact I have difficulty in my performance, about to be evicted, could not complete physical therapy (no income for copay)and have exhausted my small savings. I broke my ankle and had to have surgery. I purchased Hartford temporary disability insurance. I am single/57 years old with no one to help me. I was forced to return to work (in pain) even though I was off work for 3 1/2 months and paid for only 9 days. Hartford's adjuster stated that "since I sit at a desk I could work" and return 16 days after surgery w/plates and screw to attach my foot back to my leg. I cannot afford my medications, about to be evicted and had to borrow money to buy gas to return to work (a 50 mile drive, with a clutch operated vehicle that I can barely drive.)Shame on you Hartford!!!!... I took out this insurance in January 2008 when my dog was 4 months old. I was sent a policy in the mail which I have. I have been reimbursed for several claims that were not major as per policy. My dog is now facing surgery for a cranial cruciate ligament repair of the left back knee (CCL). According to my policy this is covered if the policy is a renewal of a Pet insurace policy issued by the company. I have renewed the policy every year by continuing to pay my premiums automatically from my credit card. The company is refusing to honor this policy stating that they sent me a notice of a change in January 2012 with an exclusion of this surgery and management of it. This is not so. The only thing that I received from them online is claim form information when I submit a claim. They have not sent me any policy renewals or update via the internet. I was not even aware that they send out notices via the email. They point to language in the policy that states that they may send out electronic notices unless you immediately inform them that you want to receive these notices by mail. I have never received policy updates from them via the mail or email, nor have I been given an option to receive renewals via mail or email. I asked the... Read More

Placed a claim for my roof due to wind damage and there were shingles all over the ground. Adjuster said we didn't have enough damage to even cover our deductible. That same evening another wind storm occurred and many more shingles all over the ground. I called Farmers to try to add this to the claim but was told that it had to be a new claim. The next adjuster said we didn't have enough damage to cover the deductible once again. A few months later one of the worse wind storms in the area occurred and put in another claim. Once again denied. We were finally able to get them to send an "independent" adjuster to inspect the roof. We have since found out that this "independent" adjuster had worked with Farmers and was an instructor for them. We were denied our request to see this report and were told that it was Farmer's property. We got nowhere with them. According to them we did not have enough damage to even cover our $1500 deductible but when it came time to renew our policy, they would not renew due to the condition of the roof. First things first do you have your own experts for your side of the fight like a Public Adjuster they are legaly only allowed to work for you not the insurance company. Second you should hire an attorney they need to bring suit under Bad faith Claim handling if for nothing else.
