Insurance Complaint against: Anthem
Coverage Type: Health Insurance

  • PolicyHolder Service - Delays/No Response
  • PolicyHolder Service - Inadequate Reimbursement
  • Claim Handling - Delays upon Delays
Anthem is holding up claims so long I am unable to file with my secondary insurance (Medicare). They make no decision, demand payments they already paid to doctors or clinics be returned and then make no determinations. So none of my bills are getting paid and they stall so long I am unable to file with my secondary insurance. In the end this leaves me with the full bills.I have called repeatedly all year, even setting up conference calls with providers. Anthem claims they will help, but then they do absolutely nothing with my claims. Again, this makes it impossible to send claims to my secondary (Medicare) because they have a one year claim period. After one year Medicare will not consider a claim at all. I paid all my premiums, but now they won't pay my claims.... Read More

I paid for my insurance policy for eleven years with Farmers Insurance. Farmers did put a new roof on after hurricane Katrina. Three years later I moved to San Antonio, Texas to take care of my parents, both in their middle eighties. I informed Farmers of this move, and told them my house was vacant. I kept paying my outrageous premiums for the next four years from Texas. Kurt Wielkens in Mobile, Alabama knew my telephone number, address, and email in Texas but did not bother to call me. He did mail my bill to my house in Alabama, which was promptly returned to him because I have not lived there the last 4 years. He then cancelled my insurance because I had not paid the bill. I had been Grandfathered in for Wind & Hail because I had them for many years. Farmers Insurance is a low life for how they treated me after being a loyal customer. I would never use Farmers Insurance, as they Lie & Delay. The Insurance company needs to be more heavily regulated by the State.... Read More

I am doing business with Kentucky Farm Bureaue, Madisonville, Kentucky for the last several years. I had some clais due to natural calamity for the last three years. The Home Policy is due for renewal from 12/16/2013. Now the KFB is refusing to renew the policy and sent a letter for same. I feel very bad about this. They could have asked for a traise in premium, but denying or refusing make me feeling of abusing my status. what can we do for natural calamities and claims. Hope to have a dvice from your side. I have a home owners insurance policy with farmers insurance in Vallejo California.. I split the payments into two for the year using my credit card. I made my second payment a month ago.. Then I found another company that gave me a much better rate for my homeowners policy.. I contacted the Vallejo office for a refund on my policy that was not used.. They declined to give me a refund.. So what do I have to do.. This is not right. Do I go to the California board of insurance. ? Call me- I'm not too much a computer person. We brought our son to the emergency room in 2011 for staples on his head. They refuse to pay the $600 doctor bill because they say the doctor was out of network. I don't understand. Who goes to the emergency room and then asks , Oh are you a network provider? This hospital is less than a mile from our house and it is not the first time he has received staples in his head. In 2010 he also received staples in his head , which was covered completely.... Read More

I have a high deductible plan, however the doctor told me that my colonoscopy would be covered 100% because I was over 50 and never had one and it is preventative medicine. I called the insurance company two times to confirm as I did not have money to do the test. Both times I was told this was true it is 100% covered. ( I called twice to make sure I got the same answer.) So I went and scheduled my test knowing you are to do this at age 50 and I was now 55yrs old. I had the test done 4/5/2013. As of today 10/26/13 I am told the doctors fee and the anesthesia fee is not covered. Imagine that I am told 100% covered but I get a bill for the doctor and anesthesia. I guess I am to lay on the table and have divine intervention give me the test with no anesthesia, then the colonoscopy would be 100% paid for. But no I am getting harassed by collection agencies to pay the doctor and anesthesia. I break down and pay the doctor fee, but the anesthesia I am not going to pay. How can you have the procedure down without being put out? All the medical information we are given "100% covered is a lie and misleading" I pay my premium and it is not cheap on time all the time and when I have my first claim I get denied! I have called 5 time... Read More

I have tried numerous times to try to get treatment for pain and was told they would help me find a doctor and that they would get back to me the next day ..that was the 1st time well they never did so after 3days I called again and was told they have plenty of doctors and that they would even set up an appointment for me.. So I went to the appointment and was told that I had to have injections in my back before they would even think about writing a prescription for my pain.. I had explained to the doctor and also brought my MRI AND NOTES ABOUT THE MRI.. But then was told she will not write one unless I had the injections so I showed her that I just had injections done and that they did not work and my doctor told me that I have to have my back fused and that there was no need to have injections since they will have no effect on me..so I called back and told the insurance company that all I need is for them to help me find a pain specialist that would help me until I would have my surgery ..so I was told that they would FIND ME ONE.well me and my wife went through every single doctor in there book and not one takes there insurance or are not taking anymore patients ..so I had explained that to them and then again BUT THIS TIME NOT...
