Insurance Complaint against: Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company

I had an accident on Thursday and I was given an adjustor, but first of all the phone number was long distance so everytime I have to call her I have to pay for that! In any case, she has not contacted me even though I was told by the claims department that she "tried to call me" on the day of the accident and did not leave a message. Now, folks, what insurance company adjustor would call and not leave a message! I WAS HERE ALL DAY WAITING FOR HER CALL!! I AM NOT STUPID...SHE DID NOT CALL!! And I have made numerous calls to Nationwide and of course that make all kinds of excuses for her. But they did send two e-mails and one phone message to her....with, of course, no response after 4 days...PEOPLE, NATIONWIDE IS NOT ON YOUR SIDE!!!... Read More

7 months later after sandy and having $250000 structure coverage and $100000 coverage in content allstate has failed me filed claim and adjuster came out to look at damage and also furnished a detailed content list. guess it was a waste of time cause the adjuster and the company screwed me good .....if your intentions were that. at least they could have bought me dinner and some flowers thanks for nothing !!!!!!!!!!!!!

i had filed a claim with my insurnace for theft and they are asking my husband a lot a questions that dont regaurd the claim.they asking a lot of personal questions that i dont feel comfortable,i know this questions have noyhing to do with the claim.we had some items stolen form my garage and yard,we made a police report and the right procedures to make a claim ,and they are trying to get out of doing my claim.i would like to talk to a rep.,so i can explain my story to you about this claim.nothing has came out of this.... In 2010, I bought a business policy from my insurance agent with Nationwide. I already had life, auto and home with Nationwide so everything was done over the phone with my agent. I received a policy in the mail, signed it and returned it with payment. Each month after, I paid $69.14. In July of 2012, I received my bill stating that my policy had gone up and the new payment due was $140.25 each month. It stated that they had an audit and this was the reason for the change. Also, the statement said they were charging me for the 12 months prior to the present date and that I owed Nationwide $535 for back charges. I called my agent seven times trying to get an explanation on this and never got a call back from him. I called Nationwide and could not get an answer from anyone over this. I cancelled all policies with Nationwide over this and now I have this lady from Nationwide calling me with threats if I do not pay this bill from them. I have explained that I do not owe for something that was already expired and this was borderline extortion. I will now have to hire an attorney to fight this.... Read More

It is common for companies to audit payroll exposures and go back to charge for under reporting in the prior term. Premium is based on the exposure X rate. Perhaps this complainant didn't understand that might happen.

My parked car was hit by my boyfriends neighbor. There was considerable damage to the rear drivers side. I was stupid and didn't call the cops. They said they had insurance, we exchanged information and I filed a claim. A few days later, GEICO calls me to let me know that the people that hit me were NOT insured and that I would have to pay the $500 deductible to get my car fixed. IT WAS PARKED AND HIT BY SOMEONE ELSE. That's not right. What the hell am I paying this company for if they won't even cover me when some uninsured driver hits me? They said they could TRY to get my deductible back from them when I went to get the car fixed. I refused to do it. I was not about to pay $500 to repair a car I was wanting to sell anyway. I sold the car and got a lot less than I should have because of the body damage. ALSO, as a side note, I called the cops to let them know about the situation and they said they also couldn't do anything about it because we had already exchanged information-it was now a civil dispute. Moral of the story: auto insurance is bullshit and you can get away with not having it.... Read More

It took forever to get my payment paid via Pay By Phone. I would rather talk to my insurance agent to pay my bill and deal with all customer questions and claims. I always have to call the help number if I want to make a claim and I think the agent who sold me the insurance should be the one who I deal with instead of an automated phone call. I don't like talking to computers. The customer service level isn't as good as it used to be just a few months ago. All the automated phone calls are putting people out of jobs because the main CEO and big wigs are more worried about the money that goes in their pockets and not about their customers.... Read More

Hurricane isiac aug 2012 filed claim FEMA and flood adjusters inspected and settled within one week.thanks. Wind policy separate adjuster had wrong cell number, promised written copy of inspection. Now 28dec and still no inspection reports. No final claim settlement for 5 months old. Four separate adjuster inspections and still waitin for settlement itemized list submitted 4months ago and partial claim settled. Nationwide contracted boulder claims in colarado,boulder sub contracted adjusters and no check and no written inspections(4). I had to retain attorney to get partial settlement.insurance adjusters not consistent. One contacts attorney, several contact me. Poor communications eg, wrong cell number furnished by contractor delayed adjuster inspection. 4seperate inspections for small dollar value claim, repeat inspections add to cost of claims and future premiums. Suggest companies limit contracting and subcontracting. Suggest time limit on denying claim and settlement just like time limit on over due premium. Thanks for prompt settlement flooding .... I had an accident back 2011, I was not at fault, the other party Vincent Black got ticket, however when my car had to be fixed, my so-call "lawyer Dean Gettis" explain to me that Vincent Black and I we both insured under geico therefore geico wanted to split the amount to fix the car 50%. I told Dean Gettis there is no way I am going to accept that, he went and send a letter to Geico that I accept the 50%, I did not sign that letter. I bought a car and when I called some insurance companies, eventhough I have a clean driver's license, none of them want to cover the car, because they said Geico said that I was 50% negligent on the 2011 accident. Geico refused to removed the 50% negligent on my record and that CHARLATANT call DEAN GETTIS do not do anything to help me. I had to returned the car back to the dealer because I could not find any insurance with a reasonable price. Imagine Progressive asked me $1625 for the first month and $900 monthly just because geico made me 50% negligent for an accident I was not at fault.... Read More

I had switched from State Farm to Farmers' thinking I would save money and honestly be supportive of my local agent and her business. I have had nothing but trouble. After Farmers' denied me my homeowners' because of 2 loose shingles, I decided to go back to State Farm. Then they decided to reinstate my homeowners' but too late. I have tried to cancel all my policies and my daughters' policies also, and they are still taking money out of my account. This has been going on for over a month. What a nightmare. Here, I was trying to do good on several fronts and got nothing but problems. I work for a very successful credit union, and rest assured, I will not recommend Farmers' insurance to anyone I come in contact with. I have never complained like this before about anything, but I felt I had no choice in this matter. It doesn't matter who is taking money out of your account - even though you orignally agreed to it. Call your bank and tell them what you have stated here. File a dispute and you will place a stop payment on them so they can't get any more money from you. 99% of the time the bank will refund into your account what the insurance company unlawfully took from you while they investigate your dispute. If you get them all the info they ask for - it becomes a permanent amount in your account that can't be touched and will leave farmwes in the cold.
