My daughter was rear-end by an Allstate driver and sought treatment. Allstate adjuster fixed and pay for damages to car but will not cover the medical expensives. She was rude and stated my daughter was not injured. This was almost two years ago and we are still having problems and having unpaid medical bills. 3 Months another Allstate driver hit my daugther and Allstate denied the claim. She was rear-end by a sentor and DPS acknowledge it was the sentor's fault but Allstate continues to deny the claim.... Read More

A guy backed into me setting at a red light. he had state farm insurance and admitted to the police it was his fault. It messed up my 99 saturn but i could still drive it. I had to call several state farm agents in the central Kentucky area before i found his agent(Bethany Hicks). I explained the situation and she said no problem, he had insurance and all i had to do was get her a police report.I did and then she wanted a estimate of the damage.I had to work in mexico for my job and got married ding this period.I did get her an estimate and everything was OK until a week later she called and said that her customer had passed away but i would be hearing from the claims dept at state farm very soon and everything was still OK. After a few days i didn't hear from statefarm so i called them and they said he didn't have insurance and so i was out in the cold and still driving a busted car. I have two complaints: If HE DIDNT HAVE INSURANCE WHY DID HIS CARD SAY HE DID and how can get proof that he didn't..he is no longer around say yes or no. My second issue is that if they had told me two months earlier when i first called that he didn't have insurance I could have worked out a deal with him or filed small claims against him.. Aft... My insurance company hired a lawyer for me who then would not represent me . He helped the city of Asheville commit fraud knowing that they had done so. On August 2 we had a court appearance in which John Spainhour told me not to appear . I appeared and the same judge that had dismissed the case was present. The judge was shocked and shook his head. A surveyor came from Charlotte and JOHN gave him the figures that the city have I was able to talk with the surveyor before john and he told me the city had changed my deed. During the hearing they thought that I did not know that was the same Judge that issued the fake restraining order in the beginning. They allowed my neighbor to record my voice and that is against the law. My lawyer told me that we could not appeal the judge decision even though I know you can. Everything that has been done by universal has been against me and in favor of the city of Asheville. I have all the proof and they can not get their hand on it. Paul Swank have continued to tell me that we do not go after the city and I continue to tell him the truth is the truth. You need to make a complaint to the Attorney's Bar in Raliegh and to the North Carolina Department of Insurance then find another attorney firm to represent you. In Ashville you can call Mike Wimer at the Ashville Law Group for advice. As I am in Charlotte I know that he can help you if it can be done. First things first. The insurance company is representing itself not nessissarily you. Also their is an appeals board in Ashville that if you think that their is some impropriatory you can have them look into it.

i made a claim back in march for hail dammage and the adjuster came out and said the hail was to small to do any serious dammage but they still payed for 2 inside rooms ceilings to be removed and replaced the chimney cap and some gutter downspouts. after we resubmitted because i had 6 roofers come out and inspect and the 1 who would even try to repair was the roofer they suggested all the others wouldn't even try to repair. after i went through all of this they sent out a forensic engineer who told us that birds were trying to get seeds up from under the shingles. there are probably 6 of my neighbors who have replaced their roofs from the same hail storm i have already took out a loan and set up roofers to replace my roof i just wanted to help the next poor person because i thought travelers was a repetable company but i know better now. we are going to drop them as soon as the repairs are done on my house... Before you do the repairs you have several options here, First you as the homeowner can ask for apprasial. You can do this by hiring a Public Adjuster in your state. He or she gets a persentage of the claim after it is approved. If this fails you can hire an attorney in your state and bring suit for Bad Faith Claim Handling which usually brings in triple damages. Most attorney's will do this as a percentage of the claim. Most forensic enginners are in the pocket of the insurance company so they will write the report in favor of the insurance company not you. If you make a firm stance now the insurance company will not want to do a drawn out battle in court. If you read the manufacturers technical services bullitions It states that hail Damage is irreversable so it cannot be repaired the roof must be replaced. So if the granuals have been dislodged and have become disbonded your roof cannot be repaired. All of these are available online in all of the web-sites from the manufacturers look under hail damage and all warranty's are void no matter if it was just installed or not.

My son had an accident in my car. They totaled the car. But because it was a Mercedes, they decided they were going to have the car. They offered me $2,500 for the car; but if I were to keep the car, it was going to cost me $8,000+. How can it be worth 5500 more when I take it? Then they refused to settle although I had an appraisal for the car for $25,000+, they were insistent that it was worth $15,000 then $17000 then at most $20,000. They were supposed to make me whole. It has been almost three years, and they have repeatedly refused to arbitrate the case fairly. They wanted to use an arbitrator that was a forensics expert! They also suggested a bus specialist. And then there was another person they wanted to use who was not a judge or neutral third party but was normally hired by insurance companies to arbitrate! I finally have hired an attorney. They are horrible! Three adjustors later, then I have a third one who is a manager in the insurance company. They have worked me nearly to death while I was suffering with my son's death and then my mother's death 10 months later.... Read More

Homeowners Insurance went up $400/yr and I decided to find a better and lower cost insurance. Policy was from 8/15/2012 to 8/15/2013. On July 29th I canceled the renewal and the policy canceled on 8/15/2013. I changed to a Better and Lower Cost Insurance policy that was effective on 8/15/2013. The previous year was paid in full with a annual payment. Now I receive a bill from Farmers for $113 on 8/20/2013 saying I have a balance owed. How could I possibly have a balance when the year was paid in full and I canceled/not renewed at the end of the policy. Well now they say since I canceled my Auto Policy on 1/1/2013 that I no longer had the Multiple policy discount and that is where the $113 comes from. I find it amazing that 8 months after the fact that they are just now billing me. Seems to be a response to the canceled policy doesn't it? Just another of the many reasons I dropped Farmers! By the way I saved about 50% when changing Auto Policies to another Insurance company. Can I charge them a surcharge for Poor Customer Service, Prices and Policies?... Read More

This is definatly a complaint to the Department Of Insurance in the state that you are in. Have them look into it because if you don't deal with it properly the insurance company will turn it over to a collection agency and it will adversly effect your credit. So don't let it go.

My son's vehicle was hit by an insured of Hartford Insurance. Hartford paid to have the vehicle repaired. Until this time, my son's vehicle had not been involved in any accidents. The auto sales industry and individuals alike use and rely on CarFax. Now, due to the accident the car presents with a "bad CarFax report." Given this there has been a diminution of value of $3750.00-$4443.00. This was determined by taking the vehicle into a Subaru dealership and asking what they would pay or give as a trade in value for the vehicle with or without "bad CarFax report." I provided this information to a Hartford claims supervisor. He responded by stating that "Any claim for diminished value must be proved. There can be no determination of a loss in value until there is an actual sale of the vehicle that was damaged. The value of the the car prior to the loss can be shown, but without selling the vehicle there is no way to determine you actually suffered a loss in its value. The document you provided to us from Subaru is a subjective opinion and does not show that you actually lost any value in your vehicle." When I initially started with Farmers my home insurance was $560 annually starting in May 2007. To date my homeowners insurance is $1940, meaning the cost has more than tripled. I filed a claim due to wind damage. A heavy wind and rain storm came through and I NEVER had any issues prior to this. I notice water marks on my ceiling and I filed a claim. An adjuster came out, and said this was not due to wind damage but normal wear and tair. A second adjuster comes out and said my roof is in almost excellent condition???? So which one is it? The claims were denied but still ended up on my Lexus Nexus report with a 0.00. This should be against the law for the simple fact that my mortgage payments have increased. I never received notification of the last increase and realized the increase when I looked at my mortgage statement. I filed a dispute w/ Lexus Nexus over 30 days ago and have yet to receive a letter or anything letting me know if the items disputed have fallen off.... Read More

Farmers is not your friend. Find a Public Adjuster in your area he or she can point out what is or is not covered in your insurance policy. Next you need to file a complaint with the Alabama Department Of Insurance and the Alabama Attorney Generals Office of consumers affairs. Do not take this lying down also find a more reputable company like Metlife.

Recently moving from Texas to Pennsylvania. I inquired about auto insurance at several different companies, since I just wanted quotes. Settling on Erie Insurance Exchange because they had given me the lowest fair quote and my mother also uses this company. After starting the policy Erie Insurance Exchange was informed of two accidents I had in previous years through Lexus Nexis of which I was forthcoming and told the agent that the ticket for fault was dismissed. The agent was given a copy of the court outcome signed by my attorney, she forwarded the letter to the underwriters and informed me I would be accessed a 10% surcharge of the policy if they felt I was at fault. A few days later I received a phone call from the agent saying that I needed to get a letter from my previous auto insurance carrier in order to keep the 10% surcharge from going into affect. I did not get this letter because I felt that it was not necessary since I had the attorneys statement and court documents stating that the ticket was dismissed. On 08/14/2013 I received a letter from Erie Insurance Exchange saying that they were canceling my auto policy as of the second of September 2013 because of the two accidents. we lost our cars in superstorm sandy. we just relocation to NJ weeks before superstorm sandy from WA and at the time of lost, we are still holding auto insurance in WA progressive but already report the change of address to progressive WA. after sandy, we tried to file a claim but progressive WA refused to pay us as we did not buy flood insurance of the car. however, some agent told us that progressive should pay us because sandy is a big disaster announced by the President and we are in keansburg nj and is one of the biggest area that influenced by sandy in NJ. so, I'd like to ask that should progressive pay our lost or not?... Hi, so sorry to hear this happened to you. Unfortunately, I don't have good news for you. The insurance co is only going to pay out for the coverage you have been paying for. In order for your cars to be covered you would need to carry a coverage called comprehensive--this covers damages to your veh that are a result of wind, hail, rain, theft, vandalism and flood. Each coverage that you carry on your policy does something specifically. and if you haven't elected to pay for it, you don't get it.
