  • General - I feel abused by this company

My husbands claim for physical therapy was denied due to the therapists being a "participating" provider versus a "preferred" provider" even though the provider was on the insurance company's list of "preferred" providers. I called and the provider had no idea that they had to have preferred status and now we are stuck with an $812.00 bill that was denied due to the provider being considered "out of network" and only a participating not preferred. The insurance company will not do anything other than to tell me that it is not their problem and site the disclaimer on their website. What can I do as now I am stuck with this bill. I was expecting to pay half and not the entire bill? Thank you.
