Insurance Complaint against: Anthem
Coverage Type: Health Insurance

  • Claim Handling - Fraud
I have repeatedly submitted claims from a compounding pharmacy. These claims are being denied despite the insurance company HAVING all of the information they say they need to pay them. Appeals and complaints have gone nowhere. Anthem Blue Cross is RIPPING PEOPLE OFF by making them pay for compounded medications, no matter what/how much information is provided, and the process is egregiously difficult and time consuming to even try to get reimbursement!... Insurance Complaint against: Fidelity
Coverage Type: Homeowners Insurance

  • Claim Handling - Denial of Claim
Fidelity insurance has refused to pay for water damage in my condo because of a occupancy clause. If it wasn't occupied within the last 60 days before making a claim, they won't pay. It's the most bulshit thing I've ever hear of.... Read More

Maria, We understand your frustration, but please refrain from posting profane language. You should contact a reputable public adjuster to look into this for you. Without reading the policy we cannot advise you on whether or not they are giving you the benefit of the doubt, but a good adjuster can figure that out rather quickly.

I have spent three months living in a chaotic environment during the worst time of my surgical recovery while caring for my children. I had my Achilles tendon repaired in February from a complete tare and the recovery has been difficult and due to the negligence of MEEMIC, it has been nearly impossible. My kitchen was almost completely removed from the flood damage as you can see from the pictures and I was forced to move back into my uninhabitable home; I was told that my housing expenses would not cover anything past the mitigation. Additionally, nothing has been done to provide me with any ability to make the home habitable and my additional living expenses have been withheld. I have been trying to cook as much as I can with a griddle and very small microwave that I purchased after the flood. Last week I broke down and bought laundry tub so I could at least have running water in my kitchen area. Since February I have been doing dishes and clean up from the bathroom while disabled (cast, crutches, rolling knee scooter, and eventually walking boot). Having to buy partially prepared meals, limited items, and eating out a lot has put a financial and emotional hardship on me and my children. I have been compliant with everything... Read More

ඕක පටන් අරන් තියෙන්නෙ මෙහෙමයි..In Chaucer's Canterbury Tales (1392), the Nun's Priest's Tale is set Syn March bigan thritty dayes and two. Chaucer lrpbaboy meant 32 days after March, i.e. May 2, the anniversary of the engagement of King Richard II of England to Anne of Bohemia, which took place in 1381. However, readers apparently misunderstood this line to mean March 32, i.e April 1. In Chaucer's tale, the vain cock Chauntecler is tricked by a fox.In 1508, a French poet referred to a poisson d’avril (April fool, literally April fish ), a possible reference to the holiday. In 1539, Flemish poet Eduard de Dene wrote of a nobleman who sent his servants on foolish errands on April 1. In 1686, John Aubrey referred to the holiday as Fooles holy day , the first British reference. On April 1, 1698, several people were tricked into going to the Tower of London to see the Lions washed. The name April Fools echoes that of the Feast of Fools, a Medieval holiday held on December 28.In the Middle Ages, New Year's Day was celebrated on March 25 in most European towns. In some areas of France, New Year's was a week-long holiday ending on April 1. So it is possible that April Fools originated because those who celebrated on January 1 made fun of those who celebrated on other dates. The use of January 1 as New Year's Day was common in France by the mid-sixteenth century, and this date was adopted officially in 1564 by the Edict of Roussillon. In the eighteenth century the festival was often posited as going back to the time of Noah. According to an English newspaper article published in 1789, the day had its origin when Noah sent his dove off too early, before the waters had receded; he did this on the first day of the Hebrew month that corresponds with April.

Flood insurance relating to superstorm Sandy and our primary residence since 1968. From The claim filed the early AM after the occurrence, it has been one night mare after another to the point that 7 months after we still have no answers. The initial complaint started with the "oops" when the company failed to assign an adjuster in the timely manner they were supposed to do, resulting in our claim being at the bottom of the list. Then contact was made with what I now consider a totally incompetent adjuster (as well as other contacts on the flood team)who made promises of $5000.00 start , as if this did anything, the heating system and electrical was over$11,000. This number does not include the restoration or remediation process. It was 6 weeks before we to received above promised funds. In the meantime we are working all daylight hours plus trying to get our daughter and grandchildren back. We felt it was as bad as it could get and then came the adjuster, George Echols, which made it horrendous. He gave us so much misinformation that it became necessary to gat a public adjuster! Now 7 months later, our file has been in the hands of at least 3 Allstate adjusters with no response other than stalling tactics which are conti... Read More

Insurance Complaint against: Genworth Financial
Coverage Type: Health Insurance

  • Underwriting - Premium Too High
I bought Long Term Care Insurance from Genworth Financial (then called GE Capital) 13 years ago. Since I had cared for my mother and knew the importance of this type of converage, I knew it was something that I would need in the future. By purchasing it at a younger age, I was locking in a lower premuim. I purchased their best coverage. My yearly premium is due in July of each year. I have now received a letter stating that my premium is increasing by 25%! How can a company, in any kind of good conscience, impose an increase that high? Now that I am getting to an age, 62, where I may actually need this coverage, they are increasing the premium to a point where my abaility to keep paying it is definately in question. I have paid $2145 per year since age 49. It was a stretch to make the payments all these years and now they are making it impossible. This type of premium increase should be illegal.... Read More

  • Claim Handling - Delays upon Delays

  • Claim Handling - Fraud
  • Claim Handling - Denial of Claim
  • Claim Handling - Unjustified Accusations
On Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at approximately 1300 hours, I was traveling from my home located in Bakersfield, Ca. to my place of employment located in Tehachapi, Ca. I was sitting still at a red light inside my vehicle, a 2011 Hyundai Sonata, east bound on Stockdale Hwy approximately two hundred feet from the intersection at Real Rd located in Bakersfield Ca. Without warning, I was stuck from behind by a 2004 Chevy pickup truck operated by Brian Miller. Both vehicles received a substantial amount of damage but were drivable. Mr. Miller and I were able to drive to a safe, suitable area and exchanged information. I felt dizzy and confused while talking with Mr. Miller. My head, neck, lower back and left shoulder were hurting and were beginning to stiffen up. I contacted my employer and informed them that I was involved in an auto accident and would not be at work today and was going to the Hospital to be checked out. I drove back to my house, approximately three miles and changed out of my work clothes. I drove myself to the Mercy Emergency Hospital of Bakersfield located approximately two miles from my house. I was treated, prescribed Flexeril and Ibuprofen and was released to my personal doctor, David Bruce Christian, MD, for f... Read More

Insurance Complaint against: Humana
Coverage Type: Health Insurance

  • Underwriting - Premium Too High
I had an individual Health insurance policy covering myself and my wife because i lost my job.The price was a fair price for the minimal coverage .I live in Florida. Now i found a job in New York and the company i will be working for has a 90 day waiting period.I called Humana and told them i will be moving to New York and need to keep this policy for 90 days .I was informed that the premium would go from $860.00 a month to $2200.00 a month .How in the world is this justifiable .I think that these practises are the kinds of abuse that needs to be addressed by our government regulator agencies.I don't care what state you live in ,the amount of money that is paid out by insurance companies doesn't triple statistically .Please look into this atrocity.... When I turned 55 my health insurance doubled.whats equally disgusting is they prorated my husbands policy at my rate because I am the primary insured. No I am 60 again my premium has increased significantly.,as well as my husbands I am still the primary insured. We are now being forced to pay 1285.38 monthly. As a small business my bobs rep says we don't qualify for group rate because ther are not enough of us . We are a group of 14 . How an this possibly be . We have incredible deductibles and at the very best a substandard insurance program. It would be nice to shop around but my husband is uninsurable from chronic illness.. No significant claims ever. Nationwide will not send out a monthly statement if an overpayment is made. I have to call the agent to find out why I have not received my monthly statement. The agent informs me that I have a credit, and that Nationwide will not generate a statement until the next payment is due. The fact that I have a credit is INFORMATION I, THE CLIENT, SHOULD HAVE WITHOUT HAVING TO CALL MY AGENT TO FIND OUT. Send me a statement each month showing me where my bill stands, even if I have a credit.... Read More

Peggy, You should call your Dept of Insurance on that, it may be their policy but it doesn't sound like proper bookkeeping to us. You should be able to physically see every payment you make in a statement.
