I have MS and take a medication daily that keeps me healthy but it is also quite expensive, about $4500 per month. It was, until recently, experimental, but I was in the research group and eventually granted use of the med. The medication is not supposed to be stopped suddenly, there are cardiac complications. But Aetna stalls filling it whenever I request. "You need a new prescription." "You need a new prior authorization." "Our pharmacists have to review your prescription." It's a good thing my physician's office is on top of things. Plus they are very kind and provide samples when needed. I have tried to explain to Aetna that I am not supposed to miss doses and that they may be liable for any complications I suffer. To no avail. Whenever I complain to the person on the phone, they get annoyed and say that they are "trying to help". I beg to differ. It seems I never have an issue with copayments for other medications yet for this one Aetna will claim that they did not have a "valid" card on file to pay for it. They use the same card every month! THEY ARE TAKING PAYMENTS ELECTRONICALLY AND STILL KEEP SENDING ME MAIL FOR ME TO SEND PAYMENTS.........WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOUR FOLKS? My name is Elizabeth. I own a 2001 ford focus. On June 4th It was parked across the street where I reside. A women hits my car and runs off. I have 2 witnesses that saw what happened. They got the plates of the women and now the women states she never hit my car. The insurance company is jerking me around and now wants to pay only 50 percent of the damages. The collision shop gave me an estimate of $4,326.59 and the insurance company only wants to pay me $800.00. This company knows I have a witness that saw everything. He also contacted the police and waited 2 hours for them to arrive. Unfortunatley, the police did not take down an accident report because they said the car did not belong to the witness. The following day I went to the precint and filed out a MV-104 stating what happened. I am still without a car and need it to get around and go to work.... Read More

I have paid United Healthcare for the past 21 years and 11 months since my late husband died. I have been ONCE to a hospital to have a knee operation because I fell at JFK. I was operated by Dr. Elliot Hershman from Lennox Hill Hospital in New York around ten or twelve years ago. This is the ONLY TIME I have been at a hospital. I go once a year for a check up and maybe three or four times more. I have always been very healthy. y policy is 12/13/1948. Since 2011 United Health care refused to pay my bills stating that I was on disability (INACCURATE) then that I was on MEDICARE(ALSO NOT TRUE) They refused since then to pay my doctor's bills I recall specifically Dr. Steve n Bernstein 923 Fifth Avenue New York City. YHC never paid him, they refused to pay him and I had to pay, and then he dropped me because UHC NEVER PAID HIM. They told me and my assistant that they will not pay because AGAIN I am on disability.....INACCURATE, and i can prove it, and I am willing to go to any doctoir to have a test to prove it, then they again said that I had Part A of medicare INACCURATE ALSO. The effort this company goes through to avoid paying is frustrating. I had to extend a trip's duration due to complications for my father recovering from surgery. The surgeon filled out appropriate paperwork indicating the complications developed while in the hospital but this firm had the gall to label the whole situation as a "pre-existing" condition. So, I am out the $275 to change my airline ticket plus the purchase price of the insurance. Other reviews praise their ease of use website as it is not loaded with insurance jargon. What needs to be noted is the "dumbed-down" information is not complete and what is there is misleading. I would NEVER deal with this company again. They are very friendly when they chat with you, but you have this sense they are stealing your wallet while they speak kindly with you.... Read More

I have been with State Farm for over 25 years. I currently need my roof replaced for the first time and the adjuster who has been assigned to our case is unprofessional and doesn't call back to a second opinion roofing company we are using. This supposedly experienced adjuster is disputing what two different roofing companies have advised him. There are two roofs on my house and they will both need to be removed. He claims there is only one roof on my house. When my husband tried to call and speak to our agent, he was told we had to talk to this "adjuster". We have never even met this adjuster in person. The couple of times my husband did get a hold of the adjuster, he asked why we are getting a different roofer? Do we not have the right to get another opinion? Can we not ask for a different adjuster? We are getting now where fast. Also, a roof was put on before I purchased the home in 1996 by the previous owner. I have been dealing with Assurant for the last year, on a homeowner issue, and I have been getting the run around, and there not providing me with the information I am requesting. A client of travelers opened their car door into our brand new $50000 dollar truck, and was totally mean about it, disrespectful of others property. We called the police and they filled out an report charging her with damaging our vehicle. We work hard and saved to get this vehicle. Now instead of replacing the piece over the wheel that she damaged they want to sand it, patch it and repaint it. Hello, the truck is less than a week old. Would you be happy with this, I don't think so. Travelers needs to take into consideration the age of the vehicle. I will hit while sitting waiting on the side of the highway with the flasher on (car had stalled), when a car rear ended me on the side of the road. The car was a total loss.
