Dog had salmon poisoning, $6,300 in bills - The title says it all. My dog needed 6 days to be treated for salmon poisoning which was diagnosed late. VPI's limit is approx. $300 for this treatment. They claim to have a $7,500 coverage limit. In order to reach this limit, your pet would likely have to develop/require 75%+ of chronic diseases/tests. I called VPI and stated how misleading their coverage limit claim was, considering their coverage limits for each diagnosis was so miniscule. Class action lawsuit please. In my opinion California Casualty uses sleazy tactics to deny claims. I have been insured by them for 14 years and when i finally had a homeowners claim for hail damage instead of sending out an adjuster they sent out an engineer whose sole purpose was to refute evidence for the purpose of denying my claim when the evidence in favor of my claim is overwhelming. Shortly after filing my claim they dropped my homeowners insurance as well. Bottom line this is a cut rate insurance company and you get what you pay for!... Read More

This past January 2012, my apartment was flooded with black water (sewage) by the Bakery that was above my apartment. By the time the plumbers finally got there and unplugged the lateral, my apartment w/all the contents was full of mold & mildew. My insurance company claims adjuster told me to call a Restoration Company. (The local ServiceMaster) From that point it went all downhill. My insurance company only wanted to pay ServiceMaster for their services, (which they maxed out the coverage)less the deductible and that was it. No other coverage according to the Field Claims Adjuster. I did get a small amount for the "Displacement Fees" because the Field Adjuster and his Supervisor felt that the bill for 114 days was too much. Therefore, those two decided that I only deserved 1/3 of the bill. Meanwhile, my apartment is still unfinished, I do not have a permanent address yet and Auto Owners Insurance Company doesn't care. Please note, I have lived in that same apartment for ten (10) years. The majority of my belongings ended up in a landfill because of the mold & mildew. My auto was stolen on May 25th. I called and made a claim on May 25th. The insurance adjuster have not contacted me but once since this claim have taken affect. My rental is have expired and they claim they cannot extend the rental, even thought the dealy was with them. Do not get insurance with this company.... Read More

I had a home invasion a little over a year ago. The guy who broke into my home got $18,000 worth of personal items. The insurance company would not pay me because I had no proof of ownership. They offered to pay for the door about $500 with a $1000 deductible. We caught the guy he spent 90 days in jail he amended taking everything. There was $2500 worth of belongings recovered. I have been a "Valued & Loyal" customer of California Casualty Insurance Company for the past (26) Twenty-Six Years. On Christmas Day 2011. We had our storage shed burglarized and all of my Camping,Fishing, Hunting Gear and Tools etc.Were stolen. I filed a claim online and then I went to my cabin for a few days then I filed the Police Report.I have sent emails,phone messages and letters. The claims agent "Mr.Brian Haggerty & Tom Muncer promised me that they would take care of me! I went through a (4.5) hour legal deposition and my wife (2.5) We have had (Two) Adjusters come out and take pictures of my storage shed and measure it.I am offering a "Large Cash Reward" to have my personal property returned! They are "Shopping for Denial" of my claim at this point.I don't have any pictures of my Sleeping Bag, Fishing Pole or Tackle Box.We suffered a Flood last year and we lost most of our items. The Nevada Insurance Commissioner is a Joke! I pray that perhaps the Fires in Colorado Springs will help these folks understand what is like to suffer! That is apparently their headquarters. I have had State Farm homeowners insurance since November 1989. My premium at that time was about the same as my property taxes, between $600-800 per year. We have not had a lot of claims in 23 years. Our premiums have went up every year until now they are $3144.00 per year. I have the premium drafted every month from my account, $262.00. This is as much as my car payment. Our agent said it is because we are over 5 miles from the fire departmetnt. I clocked it and we are 6 1/2 miles from the fire department. He also said it is because all the claims from the storms from other people, not us. Come on now this is Rome, GA. 1 1/2 miles over the 5 mile limit. At the most it would take 2 more minutes. And we have a log home, which if it did not make a difference in 1989, it should not make a difference now. It is like the insurance companies want to collect but now pay. Not everyone was not hit by the storms. Think about people across the US not filing claims, but paying very high premiums. Is there not something that can be done? What do other people do that are 10 miles or more from the fire department? This is terrible and not right!!!! Please HELP!!!!... Read More
