Insurance Complaint against: GEICO
Coverage Type: Auto/Boat/Motorcycle

  • Marketing & Sales - Misrepresentation
  • General - I feel abused by this company
Have been insured by Geico since 2009.....My premiums on 2014 Toyota Camry xle have recently been increased on the premise, that future performance of my Toyota Camry xle, according to new testing procedures, indicate to Geico, potential issues of 'non perforfance'... Will someone explain, how Geico, is now utilizing 'the chrystal ball ' concept to be arbitrary as well as resort to a possible violation of the U.S. constitution, (illegal search and seizure) clause in the 'Bill of Rights') .... In addition, one could point to the 'protection rackets' in the 1900's by gangsters like Al Capone, who demanded monies, or his thugs would cause you business or physical damage......This was referred to as the 'Protection Racket)......Isn't the analogy reasonably acceptable as a form of similar 'forced' removal of monies from Geico Insurance from their insured.....Does Geico know something about the Toyota products that I don't know....If so, aren't they now responsible for what they identify as 'Non-Performances' of all Camry xle vehicles, as well as the entire Toyota product line... Insurance Complaint against: Aetna
Coverage Type: Health Insurance

  • PolicyHolder Service - Inadequate Reimbursement
  • Claim Handling - Delays upon Delays
  • Claim Handling - Fraud
  • Claim Handling - Denial of Claim
  • General - I feel abused by this company
I have to constantly call and follow up multiple times to make sure claims are paid. Then I called to find if something was covered and it was, and at first they covered the treatment - now all of a sudden they are reviewing the claims and denying them, saying I needed pre-certification. When I originally called about this therapy to see if it was covered - pre certification was never mentioned. I was put on hold for over ten minutes and then mysteriously hung up on. I have spent countless hours having to follow up on all types of medical claims to make sure they are paid - in a few cases I have been unsuccessful as they refuse to ever fix it and I finally tire of calling them. Completely fed up with this company. Worst insurance company ever. They made tons if money last year by denying many claims that people probably didn't even follow up on.... Read More

Insurance Complaint against: Allstate
Coverage Type: Homeowners Insurance

  • PolicyHolder Service - Delays/No Response
  • Claim Handling - Unsatisfactory Settlement/Offer
I had a hail damage claim on 6/24/2015. Everything went well except when my roofing contractor said my sheathing needed to be graded up to code. I called Allstate to see if I was covered for this which was about $1600 more. After many calls to the claims department, they finally answered the phone. They said that wasn't a part of my policy. I have been with Allstate for over 20 years with 2 minor claims for less than $3000. My rates have increased every year with an increase of about $250 per year in 2015. I tried to contact my agent and I still haven't heard from him. All they want to do is sign up new clients after that your on your own. They know I have an older house so it is inevitable I need code upgrades on a claim. Yes, I am somewhat to blame, but they have never contacted me about anything. Needless to say I have to pay $1600 out of my own pocket. I've been a good customer, they could have at least helped me out. No flexibility whatsoever. Allstate motto is "Your in Good Hands with Allstate". Until you have to file a claim.... Read More

Insurance Complaint against: Farmers Insurance Group
Coverage Type: Homeowners Insurance

  • Underwriting - Forced Placement
  • PolicyHolder Service - Incompetent Employees
  • PolicyHolder Service - Abusive Service
  • General - I feel abused by this company
I received a quote on a homeowners policy 2 years ago. The quote was very high so I declined and decided to stay with my current insurance company. About 6 months later I started receiving collection notices about a homeowners policy for a home that I no longer lived in. I called the insurance agent and was reassured that it was a glitch and everything was taken care of. I kept receiving harassing letters in the mail and I made contact with the insurance agent a handful of times and he would say everything was fine and there was nothing to worry about. About 18 months after I got the quote on the homeowners policy that I declined, I received a letter from my new mortgage company that said my payment went up over a hundred dollars a month. I was put on forced placement because of the lapse in coverage from my old house. I never had a lapse in coverage, I was never late on a payment, and because I let them run a quote I now have a higher house payment. It's absurd, feels like it should be against the law. I need help. I've done everything I can think of and have received absolutely no help from the person that started the problem. Somebody please help me!... Read More

Insurance Complaint against: USAA
Coverage Type: Auto/Boat/Motorcycle

  • Claim Handling - Unsatisfactory Settlement/Offer
A neighbor's car destroyed our bushes. He is covered by USAA. Our neighbor was most helpful, but his insurance company did not cover the entire damage cost. The damage was over $600.00. USAA chose not to pay the taxes on the replacement bushes and labor. We feel that we should have had no financial liability. If USAA doesn't pay taxes on all of their claim, they are saving millions of dollars at our expense. What is our recourse?... Read More

Insurance Complaint against: State Farm Insurance
Coverage Type: Homeowners Insurance

  • Underwriting - Refusal to Insure
  • Underwriting - Cancellation
  • PolicyHolder Service - Incompetent Employees
  • PolicyHolder Service - Unfair Negotiation
  • General - I feel abused by this company
In my quest to reduce my cost for HO insurance I knew that the condition of my roof looked bad on the south side. I told the agent that I would absolve the Ins Company of any responsibility to pay for replacement, that I would sign a waiver. I never heard anymore until a few months later after the Co. Examined our home for Ins coverage. Then about a month later they aent me a letter threatning me they would cancel my coverage unless I paid for and had a new roof installed. The agent could have told me up front when i consulted with her that this could happen and that I might want to stay with my current Ins Co. But looking back, she seemed incompentent and stupid to begin with when I met her. Later I was told that this Co. Has a reputation for doing things like this to insureds. My advice is. Dont try to switch Co. To save money. Deal with your current insurrer first. Stay away from State Farm.... Read More

In my quest also to reduce the cost of my homeowners policy I replied to an advertisement that I received from a State Farm agency that was sure that they could save me money on my current homeowner insurance. After obtaining a rate that was 20% less than my current homeowners policy I decided to cancel my policy with my carrier and purchase the State Farm policy. Approximately 40 days of being insured with State Farm they send me a letter informing me that they were increasing my homeowners policy with them by 65%. That was much more than what I was paying with my prior carrier. That practice is called bait and switch. State Farm is using this tactic and getting away with it. Buyer beware.

My doctor of over 20 years could do me no further good without an MRI. I was not allowed to get the MRI the next day without getting authorization. As of Friday, the authorization had still not come thru. They are closed on Saturday, so the first chance will be Monday. If it is approved Monday without having to jump thru additional hoops. I am in constant severe pain due to suspected sciatica. A course of treatment cannot be prescribed until the problem is shown on an MRI. I've lost nearly a week due to bull crap of this company. Everyone in the healthcare industry I mention Coventry to says they are the worst of the worst. I will definitely change companies next year. I'm on Medicare and this advantage plan was supposed to simplify things.... Read More
