I took out this insurance in January 2008 when my dog was 4 months old. I was sent a policy in the mail which I have. I have been reimbursed for several claims that were not major as per policy. My dog is now facing surgery for a cranial cruciate ligament repair of the left back knee (CCL). According to my policy this is covered if the policy is a renewal of a Pet insurace policy issued by the company. I have renewed the policy every year by continuing to pay my premiums automatically from my credit card. The company is refusing to honor this policy stating that they sent me a notice of a change in January 2012 with an exclusion of this surgery and management of it. This is not so. The only thing that I received from them online is claim form information when I submit a claim. They have not sent me any policy renewals or update via the internet. I was not even aware that they send out notices via the email. They point to language in the policy that states that they may send out electronic notices unless you immediately inform them that you want to receive these notices by mail. I have never received policy updates from them via the mail or email, nor have I been given an option to receive renewals via mail or email. I asked the... Read More

Placed a claim for my roof due to wind damage and there were shingles all over the ground. Adjuster said we didn't have enough damage to even cover our deductible. That same evening another wind storm occurred and many more shingles all over the ground. I called Farmers to try to add this to the claim but was told that it had to be a new claim. The next adjuster said we didn't have enough damage to cover the deductible once again. A few months later one of the worse wind storms in the area occurred and put in another claim. Once again denied. We were finally able to get them to send an "independent" adjuster to inspect the roof. We have since found out that this "independent" adjuster had worked with Farmers and was an instructor for them. We were denied our request to see this report and were told that it was Farmer's property. We got nowhere with them. According to them we did not have enough damage to even cover our $1500 deductible but when it came time to renew our policy, they would not renew due to the condition of the roof. First things first do you have your own experts for your side of the fight like a Public Adjuster they are legaly only allowed to work for you not the insurance company. Second you should hire an attorney they need to bring suit under Bad faith Claim handling if for nothing else.

FARM BUREAU-MADISON CO.AGCY.WINTERSET, IOWA 515 462 2661 SCOT CLARK, AGENT & MRS KIM CLARK AFTER MONTHS OF TELLING THEM THAT THE ADJUSTER (LARRY STUART)DIDN'T INSPECT MY TOYOTA PROPERLY AFTER THE REPAIRS BECAUSE HE WAS TOO FAT TO GET DOWN AND INSPECT UNDER THE CAR WHERE I TOLD HIM I HAD SEEN A COOLER HANGING ALL BENT UP AND LEAKING INTO A PAN AND THE COLLISION REPAIR GARAGE SAID THEY ONLY HAD TO PUT IT BACK TOGETHER I QUESTIONED WHAT FLUIDS THEY HAD ADDED AS ONLY TOYOTA PRODUCTS WOULK AVOID TECHNICAL PROBLEMS & IMPROPER FLUIDS MAY DAMAGE SYSTEMS (CORROSION PROTECTION FOR ALUMINUM, THE HYBRID SYSTEM) THEY STATED THEY ADDED JUST ANTIFREEZE WHEN I WAS POINTING TO THE HANGING COOLER. I have owned a 2nd home (condo) in FL since the year 2000, and have had my homeowner's coverage with FL Family since that time. I have paid all premiums on time and in full, and except for a claim as a result of Hurricane Charley, never filed a claim until last year. The claim was the result of the hot water heater in the condo above mine (not owned by me) failing, and it flooded my condo. It resulted in a small claim to replace carpeting and repair damage to the walls where the water came down. My property managers (Condo Association) failed to lock up my property after the work crews were done, and even though I went to the police after finding that I had been robbed, no one would hold the Condo Association responsible, and I had to file a follow-up claim for the theft. It should have been the same claim, as it was all related, but FL Family forced me to file a separate claim. Due to some paperwork screw up, I received a lawsuit for foreclosure on the property a few months ago. It is an illegal foreclosure, as the property has been paid in full, but it will likely take months to resolve it. I just wish I could afford something else. I pay for all my medications and have been covered for little or nothing. When they told me that I had spent money allocated for that time was crazy. I have never felt more abused by an insurance company. When they initally contacted me they stated that I could go to any doctor and would be covered. I had two incidents which they refused to cover which I will accept. I then get a letter that I should be seeing my obgyn and getting my mamagram. I went to my appointment and they paid. A laboratory bill was sent in for $95 and guess what they paid $15. Now I need to know what lab i can go to for my mamagram and it will be paid for. How sad is this. I have a maximum of $2,000,000.000. and you have covered nothing. I pay for all my medications and when I go to specialized doctors such as a dermatoligist for my biopsies or my obgyn, I'm told we will help. They paid $15.oo to my obgyn and told me that I would get billed for $50.00 You guys make me sick and I will report you for how you are taking our money but not helping us. why don't you explain it the United Insurance Agency who investigates fraud.... I made the worst mistake by changing from AAA to Statefarm. In trying to save some money I am now dealing with un-efficient Statefarm employees. I transferred from AAA to Statefarm May 2013. Unfortunately, my vehicle got vandalized (keyed). Following this incident I contacted my agent and he submitted my report online. The next day an adjuster was contacting me. After giving him all the information he schedule me to meet with an inspector at a Statefarm location near my home. I did just that. The appointment wasn't even kept in it's time b/c the inspector was busy. Why schedule an appointment, if the client is not seen in time? Anyhow, he took photos of my vehicle, gave me a business card with the information pertaining to my claim. He informed me that someone would be contacting me the following day around noon or the latest 1pm. No call! I called today to find out what was going on so I can drop off my car to the shop for repair. To my surprised I was transferred over to the investigative department. Why? Because as my agent told me "they are doing this to you b/c your policy is new and you chose an out of network body shop". I have had all state insurance for 35 years.I filed a claim for hail damage they said it wasent hail damage and refused to pay. My husband died in August of 2012,im a widow. Now because they refused and then canceled me im having a hard time getting insurance. After 35 years of paying on time and being honest with them I would think they would have worked with me. I was told by 2 different inspectors that I had hail damage. I have a new roof now, that I had to put on my house to get the money. I will not have coverage after the first of the month.im hurt and feel taken by them all so broke. I don't have any thing nice to say about all state I would never recommend them to any one. had roof inspected in 2010 by our agents choice of contractors, there was no damage roof was in good shape. recently had it reinspected by our choice of contractors and there is wind and hail damage, so we filed a claim with statefarm. there is also inside damge to ceilings and a exterior wall, which they agreed to pay for, but refuse to pay for a new roof. the whole claim has been filed with better business bureau case #19032713. the adjuster along with his district rep are very rude. we have been a customer with this company for over 13 yrs and have no interest in their customers, trying to help or to keep them as a customer do not recommend this company as a insurance choice...
