Insurance Complaint against: State Farm Insurance

I have been a customer of State Farm for over a decade, I have everything I own with State Farm, Cars, home & life insurance, recently I received a letter about non-renewal of my autos due to excessive claims, I have had two accitdents claims and two roadside claims within the last two years and one due to an act of God, I was under the impression taht the roadside claims could not cause a company not to renew, these were $60 dollars claims, I have paid several thousands of dollars over the life of my policies and I feel the company has not been fair. Recently I check the 6month premium on State Farm website, the amount listed there was $400 doallars cheaper than what I have opaid, upon contacting state Farm requeting a copy of the renewal amounts, I have been told I would be mailed a copy, two weeks later nothing has been received, I would like to file a complaint with the insurance regulators and I am not sure who to contact, I will be moving all of my polices to a new carrie this month.... I have USA and they have added Identy theft for $25.00 on to my policy with out asking if I wanted it. When I called them I was informed it could not be taken off over the phone and that they had to send me the paper work to remove it, that is fine but how about Me okaying to have it put on in the first place.... I have been a customer at BUSS HILL State Farm since 1997. Husband and wife coverage for multi car discounts. Unfortunately in 2008 and 2009 I had heart problems and kidney cancer. Fortunately my wife was able to make all our insurance premiums payments. We paid $7200+ in premiums since 2005, without ever having a claim. In 2011 I had a fender bender. Made a police report have photos of little or no damage. Police officer wrote report and did not issue any violations. However to our surprise the officer notified me and my wife we did not have insurance coverage. We called BUSS HILL’S office and immediately reinstated car with a check written by my wife. I filed a report of this fender bender and requested an estimate of claimed damage by other party involved in fender bender. The other person in the fender bender went to Attorney Mark Shapiro, who has represented me in the past re: real estate. I think that would be a conflict of interest. Mark Shapiro’s office was able to make a settlement with Metropolitan Insurance for $20,000+. I have never been notified of any loss of work, cost to repair, or any other pain and suffering this person claimed. I have been trying to obtain PIP benefits from GEICO for three of our patients, one since January 14th. I have made numerous attempts by email, fax and by phone. They disconnect by phone without my ever reaching a person to speak to. On their website they insist that I fax and/or email and promise that someone will get back to me within 24 hours. This never happens. With the new PIP laws with the new time constraints, I can't help but feel this is a strategy on GEICO's part to save money. No matter what their reason...this is inexcusable. They are only adding to the misery of these people who have policies with them. Our patients have been injured in MVA and have insurance to help them. GEICO should be held accountable for their "inaction".... Read More

This a about an accident that occurred July 18,2013. Where a Farmers Insurance employee, driving a company car that had adjuster written on it, failed to yield to oncoming traffic where he proceeded to collide into my 1998 Ford Windstar while I was at a complete stop in the 3200 block on N.E. 4th st. The Farmers agent who caused the accident showed no remorse whatsoever, but I guess that goes with the job. He totaled my van and did not even make any physical contact with me or my 3 passengers. After all that and over 10,000 in bills and having to stop working as a lead painter, going through unemployment to go back to school to be retrained so that one day I can go back to work as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.I am 55 yrs. old and it is very hard going back to school after 38 years, but I will do what ever is necessary.mean while Farmers is throwing out offers of 240.00 a piece to my passengers and 2100.00 to me. They told me that their driver was only 60% in the wrong. And they have been sticking to their guns ever since. But i Know That know one likes insurance companies so if I can get them into court in the next 3years or so, and let their public pass judgement on them. Then and only then will justice be served... My vehice was struck by another vehice on Nov 16th, 2012. While i was sitting still waiting to make a turn.. The owner of the other vehicle admitted being at fault to his insurance company. Because his insurance company notified me & told me so, when questioning me about the accident. I had to rent a car for approximately 2 weeks. I reported the accident to my insurance company. My car has been repaired by my insurance company. I had to pay a $500.00 deductible plus $60.00, for my part of the rental. How long should i have to wait to get my deductible & rental fee reimbusted. Statefarm stated that they will get my $500.00 deductible back. But i,m on my own to get my rental fee of $60.00 back, from Nationwide Affinity Ins Comp of America. If a person admitted being at fault. Why doe,s it take so long for the other insurance company to reimbuse a claim?... Read More

A tree fell on my house June 29th 2012 and completely demolished it. The tree was removed 7 days later and then the house was torn down 30 days later. During that time my house was exposed to weather and all the other elements, like extreme heat and rain. My house was left open from the time the tree was removed until it was torn down. So now after all this my basement is full of mold. The insurance company is saying my policy will not pay for mold regardless how it happened. But my policy does state my house will be returned to its previous condition. Anyone know how I can get this fixed? They are refusing to even consider fixing it. I have even filed a complaint with the Ohio board of insurance, the wont even help me.... Read More

You have a valid complaint. If not in your basic replacement costs this should be covered, if not in the ordinance and law the StateFarm likes to charge everyone for code up-grades. Contact a Public Adjuster or an attorney and bring suit for bad faith claim handling. I can pretty much think that you will get their attention

I had an auto accident on Dec. 19th in the evening. The AAA company towed my car to my home. After calling an auto body shop, I had my car towed to that company for repairs. They could not get to the repairs until around the 27 or 28th of Dec. I borrowed a car from a friend to use so that my rental policy would not start until closer to the time my car was to be worked on. I rented a car from the rental company that my insurance company said to on the 29th of Dec. My car was not out of the auto body shop until the 11th of Jan. because some of the parts ordered were the wrong ones and had to be reordered. My insurance company did not email me or call me to tell me that they were not going to pay any further car rental fees past the 7th of Jan. On Jan. 11th I had my car towed from the body shop to my auto mechanic's shop because of the noice noticed in the car after the accident. A couple of days later my mechanic called me to come over and listen to the noise and asked me if it was there before the accident and it was not. On my auto insurance policy's front page, it reads that I have auto rental insurance coverage at $30/day up to $900. I went to Jason Waugh, Greenwood and explained that I needed to change homeowners Insurance on two rental properties and my primary home. I wanted to get a new insurance on the properties before the insurance was due because PNC Mortgage would pay two insurance companies if they got a chance, because that would raise my mortgage payments and they would have the use of my money, approximately $3,000., without paying interest for a year. Operations Capitol without interest. Good work if you can get it and they PNC does. Mr. Waugh assured me that would not happen. He would get the policies switched to Farmers and PNC would only pay one company from my escrow accounts. Well, when I received my payment books for 2012 I had an increase of payment on all three mortgages. What happen, Mr. Waugh failed to inform the insurance company I was leaving that Farmers was taking over the policies. When I got that straightened out I began getting letters from PNC Mortgage that necessary Insurance papers were not received. Twice, I took letters from the Mortgage Company to MR.
