I was (falsely) arrested by SWAT on 01/02/2014. I was in jail 01/02 thru 03/14/2014. city employees (Code enforcement) took our dogs (chow, golden retriever) and 7 cats. The city wouldn't let my wife in the house for 8 days. Meanwhile SC EDISON shut off the electricity and ruined the food in 3 refrigerators and 1 freezer. Had wife been allowed to enter the building the SCEdison bill was right on my desk. We had to replace all the carpet and tile because "it reeks of cat feces and cat urine" = a blatant lie. But we loaded everything in the house into the P.O.D.S. and r & r'd the old carpet & padding. A guy claiming to be a handy man helped himself to $3,000 of my electronics, tools, DVDs, Laser disc player, LED clock, floor jack, 35 quarts of oil, 2 battery chargers, 1 kitchen chair, 2 Altec speakers, cross gold pen set, wife's lingerie and heels, mini-jukebox light square, Black's Law Dictionary and entire para legal course ($1,000) , 2 book shelves, 17" Dell laptop, Nikon camera, Hanes nylons X40 (boxed), bottles of liquor (mostly bourbon), football helmets/ bubble gum dispensers (novelty from Walgreens, Dubuque, IA) Star Wars figurines (original ) 1st 'investigator' came out, took photos, left 2nd 'investigator' came out,... I've had a car accident where I'm 0% responsible and the other driver had AAA insurance. After blackmails, they have stolen my car (I'm not their client), and did a lot of criminal and federal offenses like fraud, scam, theft, blackmail, perjury, corruption, obstruction of justice. Even my own insurance, Progressive, covered up their offenses by erasing my complaint at CHP Santa Cruz... I filed a federal complaint against more than 30 persons. A lot of lost and waste time to fight those FuBa, even protected by California Department of Insurance, Dave Jones its commissioner and the governor, Jerry Brown. California means Banana Republic. Not a state of United States... You can reach my federal complaint of 66 pages by searching GRANIER vs. LADD, or by going to my blog to download it http://insurancecompanyscam.wordpress.com/2015/01/03/federal-complaint-against-aaa-southern-california-insurance-and-progressive-insurance/... Insurance Complaint against: Coventry Health Care
Coverage Type: Health Insurance

  • Claim Handling - Unsatisfactory Settlement/Offer
  • Claim Handling - Denial of Claim
I am writing on behalf of my Mother who lived in an assisted living facility in DuBois, Pa. In that facility she fell and broke her hip. She was sent to the hospital where she had surgery to put screws in the break. A social worker there contacted Mom's Health insurance to facilitate a rehab session in a nursing home . The insurance approved this request. The Dr had said 6 week rehab. So I get a call that her insurance company cancelled coverage after 20 days. I sent in an appeal and was denied. How do these things happen after a company approves a stay and then cancels coverage??? My Mother is 91 yrs old and does not deserve this kind of treatment. How is the average person to pay for this stuff? I thought Obama Care was to fix just situations. No one can be denied for a condition. Now a new insurance is taking over Jan . 1st. What are we to do now? Who do we complain to?... Read More

My wife had cervical fusion back in September of 2014. At that time the doctor also told her that her lower back would also need fusion as well. On Dec 9th the doctor sent in "urgent and necessary paperwork" to allow for additional needed surgery. The website from Blue Cross/Blue Shield states that if the request is "urgent" then the decision would be decided within 5 days. (the marketing/website department of this company lied when it implies on it's website that you will hear from someone within the 5 days) This was not the case and the decision was not decided until 10 days later (a total lack of concern, empathy and abuse from this company)When I asked who was handling the case I was given no information (deception and delays, elements of bad faith). The customer service representatives that screen the calls were no help and totally incompetent to answer any of my questions. I lost my job earlier in the month of December so it was urgent that this surgery be completed by the end of the month. This was disclosed to blue cross/blue shield and they took no steps to expedite the situation. "We" (myself, my wife and the doctor) called the 23rd day of December because they would not otherwise contact us and "we" were told the cl... Read More

In April of 2012 my late husband had heart surgery to replace a valve. He did extremely well and by July was back at work full time. On July 21st of that year a teen age girl driving a pickup and texting at the same time T boned our car. One week later my husband's surgery came apart and he had to have another surgery to repair it. Unfortunately on August 26th of 2012 he passed away. He had Assurant insurance through his job. They immediately paid the first portion. However, when I tried to get them to pay the accidental they hem hawed around, telling me that they'd have to examine all the evidence. It was clear from the police report and the death certificate that the primary cause of my husband's death was the car accident. If he had not been in a wreck, he would still be alive today. Eventually Assurant denied the accidental portion, saying that the cause of death was underlying heart disease. He had no heart disease at the time of the wreck. His surgery was almost totally healed and the only thing that could have damaged it was something like the impact from a wreck. Assurant should have paid that claim. They're a fly by night company and I would recommend that everyone stay far, far away from them. If they ... Read More

  • Claim Handling - Denial of Claim

  • Marketing & Sales - Misrepresentation
I purchased Hotel accommodations from Hotwire for an interview trip that had been scheduled for me. I also purchased travel insurance from Allianz and my trip was rescheduled inadvertently at no fault of my own. I provided Allianz with documentation of the rescheduling and they denied my claim stating that my rationale for the trip cancellation was not covered by their policy. They state in their advertisement that they cover trip cancellations and interruptions but bury their covered causes in their policy statements and lead a consumer to believe that if their trip is cancelled they can be reimbursed for their expenses. Their policy is ridiculous and only upstaged by their rationale for approving claims.... Read More

Insurance Complaint against: American Family Insurance
Coverage Type: Homeowners Insurance

  • Marketing & Sales - Misrepresentation
We are in our seventies and own a very over developed home on 5 acres that stated out as a new (in the late 90's) double wide mobile home that was gutted and rebuilt with a complete new interior, appliances, flooring, cabinets, plumbing, Low E windows, roof, 1" foam added to the 2x6 exterior walls then stuccoed. This home sits on a concrete block stem wall that has a wide raised brick patio also on a stuccoed stem wall was added to around the entire circumference of the home. This patio is covered by a 10' stick built roof on three sides, all of this is permanently attached to the home. When we purchased this home and shopped for insurance no one would cover it as a stick built home only as a mobile. Well the cost to replace the home with a mobile would be at least twice the cost of a new mobile just to demolish and rebuild all the patios, patio roofs and upgrades that would have to be done so that did not seem like an option. We talked to the realtor and they sent out an American Family agent he said they would cover it as a regular home with a GOLD STAR SPECIAL DELUXE POLICY and they did. We questioned him several times about the mobile and he took pictures of the house, we talked to the agent for a while and found we ha... Read More
