I am insured by Narragansett, My property is full of trees after the storm we came home and had broken branches all over my property. The trees broke huge amounts of my slate roof. The wind blew off parts of another roof that was done recently. Shingles from the actual house were torn off and wood pieces were broken off and scattered over the ground. The high winds blue the slates off. The insurance months later decided to send an engineer without notifying me and getting permission to come on my property. They said that the roof needs to be maintained. The roof gets repaired when there is a problem not for no reason. They allowed a few dollars to patch the roof. No one wants to touch the roof they all say there is too much damage. Furthermore, since the insurance didn't pay and we have had rain since . I am getting leaks in my entire 3rd floor. Every room has leaks from the roof. Every where the ceiling has a roof above it there is water leakage. Now the damage is greater. There is no one to talk too. I pay so much for insurance and when there is a problem they are trying to get out of it. The year is coming to an end and I don't want the insurance co. to go ahead and tell me it's too late and I won't be able to repair the roof... Read More

I had paid my insurance for several months .In this policy i had also carried my life insurance. I contacted the home office in Virginia to cancel my life insurance for I could not carry it anymore. I had paid my agent in Zebulon,North Carolina over $600.00 for renewal and I knew I would be covered for 6 months. I had called the home office and canceled my Life Insurance with them but nobody bothered to do it. In the same span of time they were taking out for both car and life even though Life had been canceled.They canceled me in June of this year and never bothered to notify me for I knew I was paid up until August of this year. Now I have lost my car Tags for 30 days.I am a widow with noway to go to doctor appointments , grocery store ,church or anywhere. It will be November 20 before I can get my tags back.I am suppose to start a new job this week and now I have to refuse the job .... Read More

There was an accident on my property by a person that lives at another address, resulting in needing two surgeries. They did pay 3000.00 in medical. You can only imagine how far that went. At one point they said they may pay his deductible. They refused any thing at all. Accidents happen. I loved Progressive so much, I told everyone how wonderful they were. Got several people to sign with them. I was told a bare faced lie on the Auto policy. I was treated unfairly on the homeowners policy. This accident happened July 20th.Just found out yesterday(Oct.10th) that they were refusing any payment toward deductible or hospital bill. The person injured happened to be our son as he was trying to cut some tree branches off our pole barn. He tries to help us all he can as we are 75 years old. That may be the reason they did not want to help. He lives in a house that he bought around 20 years ago. He does not believe in living with his parents. Though he does believe in helping us all he can. When we took out Auto insurance they did not offer homeowners. We were so happy when they offered the homeowners. During a storm one of my trees in the yard fell over. I contacted Farmers Insurance and was notified they'd give me X amount of dollars for tree removal and the shed it hit. I was informed it would be in two checks. The tree service talked with the agent and the two decided I would recieve the check within a few days. The tree service came and cut the tree and cleaned the mess as I waited for the mail. The check didn't come and hasn't come each day told I should be getting it. The insurance agent informed me after the tree service was paid, the tree service would send a copy of payment recieved and the other check to cover the shed would be sent. I have not recieved a check. I called the agent and was informed that I had to replace the shed by a contractor who would build a wooden shed, ( I had a steel siding shed in the first place). Then I would pay him and get a check for what Farmers thought it was worth. I have a written statement of what the damage was and what they promised to pay. I have used farmers for 45 years. I've never had a claim with them and am so disappointed. I have no money to get any type of shed lest they give me the check to buy it.   • General - I feel abused by this company
I cancelled a planned European trip six months in advance of my departure date and was told by the travel agent to file directly with Travel Guard for reimbursement. Three months of emails, letters, and evasive phone calls produced nothing but frustration and a pittance check for 1/6 th of what I had paid in hotel, airline and other costs. It was suggested to me to contact the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Attorney General's Office of Insurance Fraud, and only after their intervention was I finally reimbursed for all costs. If you have to deal with this company, I suggest you keep detailed records of dates of phone calls and all correspondence sent because the proverbial run-around will be voluminous. Travel Guard will claim you never sent the proper back up information, so make copies of all correspondence and send via registered mail. Good luck trying to reach the "claims manager" personally on the phone. You will have to run the gauntlet of several buffers before that happens and when and if you do, expect a sugar-y few words, but no money. The settlement check they offered was insulting. It took a good lawyer who deals with these issues to finally get my moneyand it took them three weeks to do it. Bless the AG's office... Read More

I have a 20 year term life insurance policy underwritten by Farmers Insurance and it has been in place since 2007.All premiums have been paid on time until I received a cancellation letter . It seems I did not receive nor did I get a phone call to say two premiums were not paid. I then called my agent and paid the missing payments asap. I was told it was reinstated and end of story .I then was asked to fill out a health evaluation survey which I did timely and accurately. I have had a heart attack 6 months after the policy went into effect .I then after 3 months was told the policy was under review and may not be reinstated ! I have the policy and documentation to substantiate all payments on my end. Twice I was told after payment was made that the policy was reinstated and I mysteriously received correspondence there after requesting a phone call to answer where my health questionnaire was ? I feel not only that I have not been accurately approached over the premiums as well the handling of the said reinstatement process.... Read More

We purchased our home on 08/20/2013. The insurance was purchased on 08/18/2013 before the home was purchased due to a VA requirement that stated the home had to have insurance before the home could be purchased. On 09/24/2013 Nationwide sent us a signature form asking 1)that the trampoline had been removed from the property 2)that the above ground pool had been removed from the property 3)that the steps on the porch were at least 3ft in height 4)that the animal has been permanently removed from the property. All these question were confirmed, signed and sent back to the insurance company with the insurance agent's confirmation. On 10/08/2013 we received a letter from the underwriters stating that they (the underwriters) completed a Home Care Review of the property and were going to cancel our insurance on the house because there was a trampoline on the property. We called the agent and the agent had to explain to the underwriters that there was never any trampoline on the property and that no such trampoline existed even today. Was excepted after NY Central Mutual cancelled our Policy after 16 Years Over A GLASS Claim and My husband Backed in to someone!I threw a Parking Lot going 15 Miles an hour hit a Concreat Pole Baracade Just right with the driverside wheel and caused extensive damge so they totalled the car. Then NYCentral dropped us ONLY Three incidents in 16 YEARS!!!! Went to Travlers and They excepted us after doing a check my daughter who has her own INSURANCE coverage under another group they would not except us any longer said to many claimns in one house hold!!!!!!! REALLY she not even on our policy!!!! SO now I am SCREWED If I want insurance I have to Pay 5000.00 for a YEAR!!!!!
