Insurance Complaint against: State Farm Insurance
Coverage Type: Auto/Boat/Motorcycle

  • Claim Handling - Rude/Abusive Adjuster
  • Claim Handling - Delays upon Delays
  • Claim Handling - Unsatisfactory Settlement/Offer
My vehicle was involved in a situation that took place at a retirement home, last August 9, 2015. State Farm's insured, hit eight vehicles in the parking lot, while a birthday celebration was going on inside the building. My 2010 Cadillac CTS was one of the vehicles hit. My Insurance company, Travelers, handled the repairs (Subrogated Claim). The repairs were made and I ask my Insurance company about the Diminished Value brought about by the accident. I was instructed to deal direct with the Insurance company at fault, which was State Farm. I filed the claim and was told that they would bet back with me shortly. After not hearing, I called numerous times, I finally was able to talk to someone and was told that an adjuster would get in touch with me. A few weeks later, a person by the name of Coswello Fair called and said that I needed to get appraisal estimates concerning the dimished value from several dealerships and send it to them, which I did. I visited two dealerships and got their opinions in writing and sent them to State Farm. I never received a response, so I called and after leaving ten messages I was finally able to talk to Mrs. Fair. She said she didn't receive the appraisals, I sent them a second time. Not hearing a... Read More

Insurance Complaint against: Esurance
Coverage Type: Auto/Boat/Motorcycle

  • PolicyHolder Service - Inadequate Service
  • PolicyHolder Service - Delays/No Response
  • PolicyHolder Service - Inadequate Reimbursement
  • PolicyHolder Service - Unfair Negotiation
  • Claim Handling - Delays upon Delays
  • Claim Handling - Unjustified Accusations
On January 1st of this year, while traveling on Pacific Ave between Forest Grove and Cornelius, a driver entered the highway from a driveway on the north side of the road, entered the center divider while speeding up, and pulled into my vehicle. It happened fast enough that I did not have time to react to avoid the collision. We both pulled to the right shoulder of the road immediately to exchange personal and insurance information. He told me that he didnít see my vehicle as he sped up to merge. I asked how he couldnít see a 2007 Chevy Tahoe that has automatic daytime running lights, to which he simply stated again that he did not see my vehicle. Based on the other driverís insistence that he would insure his insurance company would cover all repairs and his pleading that I not let the police sort the accident out, I felt it best to immediately contact the police and report the accident. When the police arrived, he and I both provided a statement (police report is attached). The investigation seemed to take longer than I thought it would. It turns out the reason for the length of the investigation is that his Washington driverís license came back as being suspended, so he was going to be cited for the accident. Though th... Read More

Insurance Complaint against: AARP

  • PolicyHolder Service - Denied Access to Services
  • Claim Handling - Unsatisfactory Settlement/Offer
  • Claim Handling - Denial of Claim
  • General - I feel abused by this company
Have Medicare supplement with AARP Complete Secure Horizons. Called Customer Service to inquire about assisted home care with light housekeeping and transportation.Representative stated with Page 14 Article 5 I would have unlimited services for up to 36 hours a week and 8 hours a day for such. Agency who was already giving home health care with nurse, PT and OT secured the referral from doctor for help in the house (making bed, vacuuming, driving to appointments, social visits) Clerk from Agency called me and said I was not covered because Medicare never covers such. I called customer service number on back of my insurance card which was United Health Care. Representative called agency and spent over 30 minutes telling her how to file claims, and assured me I was covered. So, services began within two weeks. From that time on, the agency stated I was not covered, and United Health CAre denied claims. When I called UHC they told me I was covered but agency did not have correct codes and had to have provider write off. They contacted agency and talked to them while I was on phone, and told them it was covered and they should code the claims correctly. Agency argued, but continued services. This went on from July to November, wh... Read More

  • Claim Handling - Denial of Claim
  • General - I feel abused by this company
I am a federal government employee and have been a customer of BCBS federal plan for 15 years. I was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer. After visiting with multiple doctors at MD Anderson clinic in Houston I had decided that proton beam therapy was the best for me. BCBS denied the doctors request for this treatment. Their reason was because they say it's not the appropriate care for. I thought their job was to make sure we're covered and to pay their share when we get sick or injured. It's my body and it should be mine and my dr's decision which treatment is best for me. I really wish there was someone in this country looking our for us instead the the rich corporations who own these companies.... Read More

Insurance Complaint against: Farmers Insurance Group
Coverage Type: Auto/Boat/Motorcycle

  • Claim Handling - Rude/Abusive Adjuster
I am with Farm Bureau. I had an accident. I hit two deer five miles apart. With talking to the adjuster I told him what happen. He told me it was 2 deductibles because it was two separate accidents. I asked if that was right since I was being honest of what happened. The adjuster asked me if I wanted fixed or not in the most rudest way. He was the most unpleasant adjuster I have ever dealt with. Plus his office is 275 miles away. The fact that he was rude and belittled me during the conversation has made me decide to change companies. The customer service in the adjusters area is the worst I have ever seen and I have heard from others complaints like this. I talked with the adjusters manager and she told me that there is nothing they will do about his behavior. I hope this helps others from making a mistake. My agent is nice and tries to help but he didn't help with the adjuster at all.... Read More

Insurance Complaint against: MetLife
Coverage Type: Life Insurance

  • Underwriting - Premium Too High
  • General - I feel abused by this company
I have had 2 group life insurance policies, one on myself(just turned 50 years old)and one on my wife(just turned 55 years old) which I continued to carry after I had left Eastman Kodak Company. Metlife decided on the newest Aging, Salary & Rate update that they were going to raise my monthly insurance premiums from $45.58/month to an outrageous $85.99/month, an 89% rate increase. My wife's premiums went from $34.40/month to $56.00/month, also an outrageous increase of 63%. Believe it or not Metlife has also added administrative fees to both policies each of $2.00 per month. Talk about trying to bleed people dry! How do they think that people can afford this? I cannot believe that this insurance company has imposed these huge rates on individuals and am very unhappy with them at this point. They are ridiculous with these increases and are going to lose good customers because of it. There is no negotiation on these rates either. The only way that you can have lower rates is to drop off some of your coverage. Why is the customer the one that always has to give something up? Metlife's profit margins must not be high enough................ Read More

  • Claim Handling - Fraud
Around 10/28/15, I was contacted by Mr. Carlos Marshall, AMIM, Senior Claims Representative of One Overton Park-3625 Cumberland Boulevard, Suite C100, Atlanta, Georgia 30339. He was very rude from the beginning of our relationship. His client Harbor Lights Yacht Company had me wait for 4 months to give me their insurance information. That I was supposed to be given to me immediately.I was injured very badly from a fall due to poorly lit lighting conditions around the stairs,my inability to see anything in front of me & their shaky & unstable handrails. This occurred on 7/21/15 10pm On 7/22/15, a day after the accident, I contacted Mr. Woodley to inform him of my accident. He said that he & his wife were sorry & that,, they'd have the area fixed. I have several disabilities and pointed them out to Harbor Lights. I received call on 10/08/15 from Mr.Woodley" He finally revealed that he was one of the owners.Alex Suazo was his partner. Woodley screamed and yelled at me stating my being disabled would not get me much of anything, that I removed the rope blocking the area off and that I had no witnesses. Mr. Woodley also said that he fixed the area where I fell! I told him that I was in a lot of pain & he said "so what". I tried ... Read More
