Constant increases in premiums and increased deductibles, now I get a notice of non-renewal, alleging that a tree is touching my house, which is not true. I did pay to have all foliage removed that had the potential of touching the house. They sent out inspectors as a reason to up our rates, to cover the cost of the inspectors. They did not say so, but how else would they justify the cost. I have included a copy of the letter I sent Citizens Insurance company.
Dear Citizens:
I recently got a notice of non-renewal, because of trees touching house, even though they were not. Instead, I paid hundreds of dollars to remove anything that was near the house. I then sent photos of compliance. I have not received any reply regarding my reinstatement. Even if every tree in the neighborhood hit my house it would not cover the deductible. I can't believe that you consider me a risk, with all the years that I have paid my premiums I have never filed a claim. Where is the risk. Your company is just taking money and not giving anything in return. The deductibles are so high that I could never file a claim. I am a widow below the poverty level and I pay more to you than my mortgage principal. Does that seem right to you. I believe that you are singling me out and I plan on informing the Insurance commissioner of your unfair business practices.
