My home was broken into in March and many valuable things were stolen. The thieves also destroyed the house as they ransacked it. I felt violated. What was worse, the adjuster for the insurance agency made me run through hoops just to prove what was stolen. Asked for receipts for every piece of jewelry (like i kept them over the years) and basically made me feel like it was my job to prove i was actually robbed of valuables.
Of course - i put together a detailed list after much research and hard work, and after much delay was offered a settlement offer of about a third. I feel like i was robbed TWICE.
