I had a home invasion a little over a year ago. The guy who broke into my home got $18,000 worth of personal items. The insurance company would not pay me because I had no proof of ownership. They offered to pay for the door about $500 with a $1000 deductible. We caught the guy he spent 90 days in jail he amended taking everything. There was $2500 worth of belongings recovered. He amended taking everything. He has to make 10 thousand dollars. In restitution. The insurance company will not help me out at all.
