My son had an accident in my car. They totaled the car. But because it was a Mercedes, they decided they were going to have the car. They offered me $2,500 for the car; but if I were to keep the car, it was going to cost me $8,000+. How can it be worth 5500 more when I take it? Then they refused to settle although I had an appraisal for the car for $25,000+, they were insistent that it was worth $15,000 then $17000 then at most $20,000. They were supposed to make me whole. It has been almost three years, and they have repeatedly refused to arbitrate the case fairly. They wanted to use an arbitrator that was a forensics expert! They also suggested a bus specialist. And then there was another person they wanted to use who was not a judge or neutral third party but was normally hired by insurance companies to arbitrate! I finally have hired an attorney. They are horrible! Three adjustors later, then I have a third one who is a manager in the insurance company. They have worked me nearly to death while I was suffering with my son's death and then my mother's death 10 months later.
