I purchased Hotel accommodations from Hotwire for an interview trip that had been scheduled for me. I also purchased travel insurance from Allianz and my trip was rescheduled inadvertently at no fault of my own. I provided Allianz with documentation of the rescheduling and they denied my claim stating that my rationale for the trip cancellation was not covered by their policy. They state in their advertisement that they cover trip cancellations and interruptions but bury their covered causes in their policy statements and lead a consumer to believe that if their trip is cancelled they can be reimbursed for their expenses. Their policy is ridiculous and only upstaged by their rationale for approving claims.
