• General - I feel abused by this company

I am a federal government employee and have been a customer of BCBS federal plan for 15 years. I was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer. After visiting with multiple doctors at MD Anderson clinic in Houston I had decided that proton beam therapy was the best for me. BCBS denied the doctors request for this treatment. Their reason was because they say it's not the appropriate care for. I thought their job was to make sure we're covered and to pay their share when we get sick or injured. It's my body and it should be mine and my dr's decision which treatment is best for me. I really wish there was someone in this country looking our for us instead the the rich corporations who own these companies.
