I signed up with Progressive to insure my fifth wheel as it was big investment though i bought it used it was a big deal for me being a single dad with 2 kids. I moved my camper from one site to a permanent site in October on my way to the new camp ground i was driving n the Thruway and at some point the side of the camper flew off. I did not realize it till i pulled in to the new camp ground. I was devastated however thought i would be able to get it fixed because i had insurance, WRONG!!!! My insurance company began immediately asking for things like receipts from the cap ground i stayed at and toll receipts to prove i moved it then it took them about 2 weeks to get out there and they claimed the side came of because of water damage yet there was nothing to indicate water damage other than the out side of the camper being wet which it had rained 2 times while waiting the 10 days for the adjuster even thought i had tried to wrap it in plastic. The insurance company declined my claim 100% refused to pay anything. So then i was forwarded to the NYS Department of Financial Services who i was told would mediate between my self and the insurance company boy was this far from the truth i wasted 4.5 month going back and forth and he tells me he doesn't have the power to make them do anything. I now have a camper with about 7,000 in damage no money to fix it and my insurance company PROGRESSIVE didn't do what i paid them to do insure my investment. I bought my insurance threw the Good Sam Insurance I DON'T RECOMMEND USING EITHER COMPANY EVER FOR ANYTHING! The look for reasons not to pay claims instead of taking care of their customers!
