I chose WellCare for my Medicare pharmacy supplement. CVS is the mail order pharmacy of choice for WellCare, but I received unsatisfactory service from CVS, so I switched to Walgreens pharmacy. Walgreens pharmacy provided all of my tier 1 medications at no cost to me. Walgreens has an advertisement stating they provide mail order pharmacy service, so because Walgreens is listed as one of WellCare's preferred pharmacies, I had no idea the Walgreens pharmacy was different from the Walgreens mail order pharmacy and I signed up for my meds to be delivered to my home. The first shipment of medications I got were $154! The same meds I had received from Walgreens pharmacy at no cost to me. When I called WellCare to ask why this happened, the explanation I got was that Walgreens mail order pharmacy was NOT a preferred mail order pharmacy for WellCare. I explained why I had chosen not to continue with CVS, and that they had referred me to Walgreens, and that I had no idea Walgreens pharmacy and Walgreens mail order pharmacy were not the same thing. I immediately asked to have ALL orders cancelled, and I cancelled my enrollment with WellCare to be effective 12/31/2014. I then received yet another shipment of medication to the tune of $190. I called WellCare and asked to speak to a supervisor and was put on hold for over an hour before I finally hung up. Mind you, at the beginning of every conversation with them, I was asked for a good contact number where I could be reached in case we got cut off, but I never received a call back. When I called back and finally got connected with someone who said they were a supervisor, I was told there was nothing they could do about this travesty. PERIOD! End of conversation.
