I had a car accident on Nov.15, 2014 by a driver that had Progressive insurance. I contacted the insurance on 11/16 and I was given a claim number and was told by Richard Dodson that he will be handling my claim. I called on monday 11/17, 11/18, 11/19 and on that day Richard stated that he could not get a hold of the driver that hit my vehicle. I explained to Richard that my car was at the shop because it was not drivable and that I needed a car he said that it may take 3 weeks before he had an answere. I went to the shop and met with the adjuster, I explained that I had no car and I showed him the police report that indicated that the other driver was at fault and that he had fleed the sceneof the accident, the adjuster said he will try and get a hold of Richard and expedite the claim, I explained that I had no car and that I will get the cheapest rental and when Richard decided to fix my car then he can also pay the rental. I called Richard on Nov. 20, 21, 22 and finally I called the main number and was told that my case was transfered to Andrea Miller so I called Andrea and she said that they will accept responsibility for part of the accident because the other driver said that a semi truck made him hit my car so I had to track down the semi? I was then told to call my insurance to fix my car and that my insurence can then bill progressive I refused to open a claim with my insurance because the accident was not my fault and I had to pay $500.00 deductuble and my insurance did not carry rental car so I explained that to Andrea and she said that she can only authorize part of the repair and since they estimated the repair to take 5 days then they will only pay for 5 days rental. I was told this after my vehicle sat in the shop for 21 days. so I called my insurance and paid $500.00 deductuble and then my insurance sent a calim adjuster and estimated the repairs at $3200 minus my $500.00 deductuble and since my car was at the shop for 21 days I was responsible for 16 days or $504.00. Progressive refuses to pay the rental balance because they say its my fault for not calling my insurance on the day of the accident to have my insurance fix my car. Why should I have to pay a penny for an accident that was not my fault.
