I have had VPI insurance over 6 years. When first becoming a customer VPI had excellent customer service and paid their claims in a timely manner. This company is NOT what it used to be. The claims representatives are rude. They do not tell you what is really going on. They take you around and around and never really tell you the truth of the matter. Just yesterday, I spoke to them about a claim I submitted, I was told this. On the claim I submitted for $220.00 that I would only be reimbursed for 76.5. When it clearly states that special tests such as allergy test are reimbursed at $135.00. Well, there explanation was that there was a $50.00 deductible. That was the reason I was only remimbursed and then they only paid 90% of the cost after the deductible was met.But on the claim for there was nothing about a deductible of $50.00. I talked a coupld of friends into signing up with VPI and heard from them that issues were coming up about their claims also:(

Then they put me over to sales and told me there was much better plans I could choose from. SO, I asked to be put on major medical for my pet. I was paying $59.80 month for the insurance I was carrying. The lady said it will be a few dollars more. Well, today, I was informed that I could not put my pet on major medical insurance because I had claims already in this "claim year" the new year started 10/29/14. Today is 11/20/14, I was informed by a message that Piper could not be switched to the major medical plan because he had claims since 10/29/14, and we have had insurance with them for six years.
This is the type of stories that come up....to keep from paying anything. Same with their claims. Be aware, there is something under-handed going on at VPI.
