scheduled for stress test for heart issues,history of heart disease,arrived @ hospital registration,was explained options on financial responsibility,test was totaled @ 10,200 dollars,because of having PPO (ins. type)total was reduced to 7,900 of which ins.will pay 6,700 leaving me with out of pocket 1,200,if I paid it that day it would be reduced to 780 dollars.asked if I waited 30 days to pay,they said then it would be 1,200 dollars.If they can discount the total 2,300 and the out of pocket 420 dollars,why can't they eliminate out of pocket for patients. I pay 4,000 a year for insurance plus 3,000 in deductibles. I am 60 years old w/a wife that is by-polar. Worked all my life trying to save for retirement only to pay out of pocket to stay ALIVE.Thank you insurance and healthcare providers.
