Insurance Company: Cigna
Coverage Type: Health Insurance
- Claim Handling - Denial of Claim
Payment to my primary care doctor was denied because they say my insurance is parttime insurance and they do not pay for pre-existing claims. But I went to see my doctor because I was losing weight and didn't know why so she sent me to have blood work done. The results indicated I had Type I diabetes so I was put on medication and was instructed to schedule another appointment for blood work to see if the meds were working. I did as instructed and went to see my doctor for the results. So to make a long story short I am being billed for doctor fees and blood work for roughly $1,000.00. I work parttime in retail my doctor was made aware of this. I am also being charged for an annual exam my doctor office explained it would be no cost to me but my claim is being denied as well by my insurance company. I don't understand why I have to foot the bill for services my doctor performed that she should have known would or would not be covered by my insurance carrier. And surely my insurance doesn't tell in detail to me what is and isn't covered.
