  • General - I feel abused by this company

The health insurance had been cancelled for non-payment and was not in sue. I cancelled the payment for April and thought it was cancelled permanently but discovered the money was taken out again on May 1st. I immediately contact the bank and they said they could not stop payment on the check. I call Highmark and they said it was not credited yet. I called a few days later and they said it takes 30 days to refund the money. It is the 29th and still have not received my money. They said it had been mailed. They said they automatically hold the money for 30 days so the bank does not take it bank. It is wrong and dishonest to hold someone's money for that long. It is like stealing. They have no right to hold money that they know does not belong to them for 30 days. I have incurred hundreds of dollars in overdrafts fees and they keep incurring because I still do not have my money. They took it out electronically--they could refund it electronically. It is nothing but a scam.
