I got a call from a gentleman named Carlos Garcia who's phone number is 877-357-5692 ext 7491 who works at a company called Consumer United. He told me that he was a broker from all different property and casualty companies and gave me a quote from 21st Century. He told me that my payment was going to be $509.00 for 6 months which translated to $80.88 per month. I told him that it was a great quote and I decided to go for it. He told me to give him my information and I did. He also said that the initial payment was going to be $107.22 and then $80.88 and that I was going to get an email to e-sign the policy.
This morning I went into the email that I received and could not log in. It said that I had already created an account, so I called. The 21st Century representative told me that I had already created an account and that I had signed for paperless billing, which I never did!!! he asked me to change the password. I did and when I saw the policy payment, it said $107.22 paid and next payment $107.25. I immediately asked for a supervisor and told her the discrepancy in the quote that I received. She informed me that Consumer United was a third party wholesaler and that 21st Century was not responsible. I informed her that I am a financial advisor and that if I sell an annuity from a third party, them and myself are absolutely and totally responsible for what is said and done.
I cancelled my policy immediately and I am hopefully getting my money back. I wasted 3 hours of my time working with a company that misrepresented the facts and told me what I wanted to hear. As a financial advisor, I respond to the SEC for any errors and omissions, the agent that I talked to should also be fined or reprimanded for his actions, and also 21st Century should be reprimanded and fined for misrepresenting the fact that they are not responsible for their third party vendor.

Carlos has done the exact same to me! I urge you to file a complaint with BBB. I have been trying to get in touch with his supervisor for weeks, even though he told me he would call me!! Carlos sold me 21st with full glass, a rock hit my window and ALL OF A SUDDEN I don't have full glass on my policy and 21st said there was nothing they could do. Carlos is a shifty trickster who needs to have his licenses pulled.
