I applied for SR22 on Oct 5,2012 thru American Auto Insurance Agency; I found them in the yellow pages; called to get an estimate. They gave me an estimate of $229; when I agreed to take them and paid the amount "quoted", they refused to give me the Insurance Card that came with the policy if you are stopped by the police; 2)they told me that because I paid in full & they weren't able to make money off of me thru "interest" fees they weren't obigated to give me a card with my policy; 3)On 10/12/12 - I received a call from their underwriting Dept. stating that they were unable to find anyone to insure me so infact I am not covered. So, I asked for a full refund of the $229 I had given them. They told me it would take 2-3 weeks for refund. On 11/10/12 - I called them to inquire about my refund, and was told they they were not informed of me cancelling my policy - which was a lie! I e-mailed their Underwriting Dept. an official notice indicating the names of the two people I had spoken to, and the several letters I received from their office stating that my policy was cancelled back in 10/12/12. However, with this they only refunded me(12/21/12) $221 of what they owe me.
