DENNIS's complaint:
December 20, 2012

Insurance Company: Esurance
Coverage Type: Homeowners Insurance

  • Underwriting - Premium Too High
  • PolicyHolder Service - Incompetent Employees

There was a Policy increased more than anybody can afford a year, especially the Veterans like me that depend on Social Security retirement. From $920 went up to $1,163.11 and the sad part is that our government and the insurance commissioner approved it. The law need to change on the reporting time because it says they do not have to inform the client until 45 days out of renewal. I think it should be 6 months out and if they know before they sale the policy (which I got the feeling they did)they should tell you then.To deceived a person, especially a Veteran, should not be allow by law and I consider that as fraud. The name of the insurance is SECURITY FIRST OF FLORIDA.I spoke to the customer service yesterday and they did not give me an answer until today from WIESENHAHN INSURANCE AGENCIES.The last person I spoke to today 12/20/12 was a female name "Billy",IF IT IS HER REAL name, but refuse to give me her employee number and at first even the name. She also refuse to give me a manager or a CEO to speak to and even a number. I will also contact my Senator/Congressman in regard of allowing by law only 45 days out, to notify clients of an increase. Also, will report to BBB.I think they new about the possible increase for all the insurances and the possible amount of the increase, but decide to conceal it to me the new client. My account # is;SFIH7916482-02. Regardless of the 45 days out by law, they should advice me sooner, especially if they knew before they got my contract.Honesty is the key for returning customers and when you start concealing information for their benefit, they risk of loosing a client and other future clients
