My husband has a lot of health issues. The last few years UHG has not been covering ANY claims. They process the claim and it says nothing paid. We now have bad credit because of all the collection agencys trying to collect these claims. Some of the claims where finally covered, but this does not take off the bad credit with the collection agencies. UHG was behind 16 months paying for my husband's dialysis. This is just one of many claims not paid.
I worked for United Health Group for 10 years until they layed off our department in October 2012. I have tried getting HR to take care of this issue, but nothing happens. My insurance ended Oct 31, and November 14 I finally recieved the form to fill out for Cobra. I can't pick up RX my husband needs because we have no insurance until they recieve the check and paperwork for Cobra. I don't know the reason the company told us we would get the Cobra information 2 weeks after they layoff which was Oct 26.
I have called the National Insurance Association and they told me that insurance companies do not have to process claims in a timely matter. (?????) So if you have health issues, you are also going to have credit issues. My house is paid off, I have not used credit cards in years. I have no loans. But I have bad credit due to this insurance problem. And there is no one that will help me.
