My mother in law is actually the one insured by Unified Life insurance company partnered with Optum Health Allies but my sister in law and I have been the ones making the phone calls to make sure things are being done accordingly, which they aren't. My mother in law had no health insurance, the place where she works doesn't offer any. She found out in May of this year that she had cataracts in both eyes and was rapidly losing her sight. We talked to many insurance companies before we went with this place because they assured us that they covered pre-existing conditons and after the 30 day waiting period which turned out to be a 60 day waiting period we went ahead scheduled her first cataract surgery. It was a success thankfully but she is completely blind in the other eye. Now we find out yesterday that they do not cover pre-existing condtions and my mother in law is responsible for this outrageous medical bill. I am so mad I could spit nails and am going to write a formal complaint to the attorney general because this company should be held liable.
