Insurance Company: Shelter Insurance
Coverage Type: Homeowners Insurance
- Underwriting - Cancellation
- General - I feel abused by this company
Purchased a home in 1998 and contracted with Ray Carrico of Shelter Insurance in Louisville KY for homeowner's.
This spring, contacted the agent to get a quote for additional coverage due to home improvements over the years.
Received a quote and I said I'd consider it.
Several weeks later, a bill for same appears and I contact agent and tell him that I'm not paying for the additional coverage and he needs to correct his mistake as I didn't agree to the increase for the extra coverage.
He confirms several days later and tells me he "had to pull some string to get it done, but it's taken care of..."
Letter received from lienholder that I don't have coverage on Friday, October 27th, 2012.
I contacted the lienholder who left a message today that they've verified that I don't have an active policy.
Agent Carrico leaves a VM today as well stating that he received a call to verify from lienholder and "thought I was cancelling, so he cancelled the policy".
Shelter customer service rep, Kelly Summer tells me that her system says my policy was cancelled due to "failure to pay supplimental coverage bill".
Looking for representation.
