My mother is covered by my policy. She has never had an accident to date. She rubbed bumpers with another lady. The total damage between both vehicles was $850. I called and asked if it would be better to have my mom pay out of pocket so my insurance rates wouldn't go up. I was told that I was a "Gold member" and that I had small accident forgiveness. 2 months later when my policy renewed it went up $34 a month due to the accident. When I called them to discuss this, I was told yes I was a gold member and that small accident forgiveness capped at $400.
