Insurance Company: GEICO
Coverage Type: Auto/Boat/Motorcycle
- Underwriting - Cancellation
For the past two months I've having problems with American Express and therefore with GEICO my automobile insurance, Amex didn't pay my monthly insurance like they used to. In July GEICO informed me of that and a few days before my cancellation date I've remitted my payment to them through my bank, the same thing happened this month and when informed that they couldn't collect my premium again I remitted my payment again through my bank payment that they received on time, 8/15/16 was the cancellation date and they received it on 8/13/16 but I made a mistake on that payment and instead of sending $ 125.25 I sent $ 120.25, on 8/20/16 (last Saturday) I received a letter from GEICO dated 8/15/16 letting me know that I was $ 5.00 short, I immediately sent That amount through out my bank but and this I found out today because I didn't check my emails for the past four days on 8/19/16 they cancelled my insurance (a day before I received the famous $ 5.00 letter), those $ 5.00 they'll receive today because banks don't do those transactions on weekends, and by requesting those $ 5.00 they insure themselves to receive my full payment and at the same time to execute their sneaky and well thought out plan to cancel my policy Since the second event with Amex I let GEICO know that I was going to instruct my bank to remit my payments every month to them, their answer? "NO" that I am supposed to be enroll in an automatic payment system with them, and that in order to do that I am to RESTART my insurance and payments method with them and if I don't agree with that I have to make a yearly payment on my insurance with them something that I can't do because I am retired, leaving on Social Security and can hardly make a living out of it and having serious health issues, I can make my monthly payments but I don't want for them to stick their noses into my accounts, they have no right to do that, to threatening me with cancellation because I want to manage my accounts and payments personally but GEICO has showed me now that the only thing they want from consumers is to kneel down in front of them, showing them how grateful we are for let in us buy insurance from them and at the same time they are going to corner us and squeeze us of up to our last drop of blood.
Now I feel being used by GEICO, they left me without auto insurance, an auto that I use to go to my doctor's appointments and that I use to do a little bit of extra work to supplement my Social Security and now I have to start looking for a serious insurance company that will attend to my needs and not trying to squeeze me for their welfare only.
There is something else I forgot to mention before, last week I've received three emails from them that now have disappeared and I wouldn't doubt that it is their doing. And I feel abused and discriminated by them
Thank you very much for your time and help.
